Why not a nuke?

Your feelings don't matter.  I want to know why you think they have strict laws around owning or building one?  Even if you are another country for that matter (north korea...cough)

Adding to that...is the fact that all these guns ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Title_II_weapons ) are being heavily regulated, an assault on freedom?  Yes or no?


I can assure you...there are many people who also feel your machine gun is just as pointless to own as a nuke (hypothetically speaking)

Where, how and why do you draw a line at some weapons...and where is that line before your freedom is stepped on?

I would love it if Holland went nuclear. Not just as a deterrant but also to be taken seriously as a nation by the powers that be.

Hmm so your line is the difference by how many lives can be lost or the totality of destruction with a nuke vs machine gun?

But nukes don't kill people bodhi...shitty people kill people.  Why stop them from having the ability to own a nuke?

You sound like someone who wants to put heavier restrictions on owning an assault weapon because they make killing people easy.

But now that someone decently credible and reasonable to talk with is here...

Can you explain why lines are drawn for what weapons are acceptable and what ones are not, for a society?

Does the right to own an assault weapon mean you are free?  And if you don't, you aren't?

Are these regulations for the state's reasonable?  Still have your freedom regardless?

How is it ridiculous? Because you're against people sexually abusing kids but not disarming people? I'd say it's a pretty good comparison. On average, 13 year old girls are ready to begin reproducing, and for the longest time, it was the norm. It may be risky for someone that young to give birth, but they're fully "functional" at that point. A bullet fired from a bolt action rifle is every bit as deadly as a bullet fired from an automatic. Just as a 13 year old's sexual organs are every bit as functional as an adult's. It can be argued that both are "more dangerous". The only difference between the two situations is your own morality and opinions on the subject matter.

The strongest defense I hear for wanting to keep the right to own assault weapons is freedom.  And taking away such weapons violates freedom.

I have made my opinions quite clear.  I'm on the fence.  And I haven't shared my morality on the subject

I ask questions, the defensiveness ensues, and then the last stage is assumptions

I'm asking questions.  Please answer my previous questions so I can better understand your logic of losing freedom by putting heavier restrictions on certain guns (something your country already does as I've pointed out)


Disarming people means these specific weapons in question?  To put assault rifles on your "restricted list" with automatics means you are disarmed?

I'm probing the minds of the average pro gun American.

I'm not anti gun for the record

The entire crux of your argument for taking them away is that people were killed by it. Why not ban alcohol if thats the case, its many magnitudes more dangerous than "assault" weapons. Unless of course, this decision is based entirely on emotion rather reason.
