You guys ever been?  I'm goin' out to visit some friends that have moved to Cali and Arizona, we're meeting in Vegas.  The furthest west I've been is University Park, Pennsylvania :lol:


If you went, what did you think?  Recommend it?

Don't call the number for hookers if they were on fliers or business cards being passed out on the strip.

Yeah, Vegas has deteriorated even more than the grimmest depiction in Fear and Loathing.

My advice:
Don't:
Don't eat any shrimp cocktails
Don't blow your money on gambling
Don't blow your money on hookers
Don't blow your money on "free drinks"
Don't breathe in too much of the air
Don't eat anything you got for cheaper than $4.99
Don't see any entertainment
Don't use anything public

Do:
Check out Blue man group
Enjoy the sights
Shower often

The Alcohol offered at the bars are watered down...buy your own if you wanna get fucked up.

If you smell something weird...check under your bed for dead hookers. Srsly, my aunt was talking to a bar tender and asked about some stories. He said that they found a body under the bed at the Luxor.

i've had watered alcohol at a dive bar in mexico, not sure about vegas lol.

for those under 21, it is absolutely pointless to go to vegas. what are ya gonna do there? look at the people drink/gamble/fuck hookers? meh.

over 21, sure it can be a blast. bring only what money you need, otherwise it'll end up in the nickel slots.

Good advice from what I'm told (never been there myself, I'll wait until I'm 21 so I can actually have fun in Vegas)

The only actual legal prostitution is a long ways outside of Las Vegas, in a county where prostitution is allowed. There are a variety of brothels out there, but don't expect a cheap hooker... they're all expensive, hot women.

On the up-side, the cost is similar to that of many decent escorts, but unlike escorts they aren't allowed to take your money and then refuse sex.

I lived in Vegas 27 years. Moved away last year. My advice; spend your evenings doing the "Vegas thing" if you must (gamble a bit, drink, and walk up and down the Strip seeing all the sights) but during the day you need to get out of town and see some of the magnificent things the area has to offer. Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam, etc. Trust me, its a much more fulfilling way to spend your days. This of course assumes you have a car. If not I can't help ya.

And if you want to catch a show in the evening Blue Man Group is my reccomendation. For the most part I think all the big production shows are a waste of money, but Blue Man was worth every penny both times I saw it (although admittedly back then I paid about $80 for the best seats in the house, now they are about 50% more then that).

Oh yeah, and as already stated, prostitution is illegal and the dozens of cards/flyers/pamphlets that get shoved into your hands as you walk down the Strip will get you nothing but trouble!

As a side note: If you smoke cigarettes then bring your own supply. Vegas joints charge a shit load for a pack of smokes!
