Still here, still have power. Still raining like a mother fucker. Water in my area has receded a little bit but my yard is still a lake and only the dead center of the road isn't covered in water.

As for people staying behind and what not.. It just depends. Some people can't and shouldn't evacuate.. My friend's wife is a nurse on call 24/7 for example.. Pretty much all emergency personal needs to stay behind, even if it could mean dying. If you have literally nothing keeping you in the area, then you're kind of an idiot for staying. I have a long history and know my area as well (as I've proven in this thread lol) so I already knew what was going to happen. I stocked up and knew I wasn't going anywhere for probably a week or more.

Ohcrapitsnico just evacuated downtown on probably the only route left out. Exit ramps are flooded. I-45 north of 610 was under at least a few inches. No idea if it was receding or getting deeper. The garage in his building was filling up.

Rain sounds like it's stopping here for now actually which is good, will give some more time to drain away some of this water. Glad I live up higher than most people. Our overpasses are still clear and there's one just a couple blocks from my house I could jump on if I really needed to. I know it would be clear for at least a few miles. I'm willing to bet I could get out if this city, np if I really had to. I'm half tempted to take my bike and go take pics just to prove it :lol:

I wouldn't be going through Houston, I'd be heading away from it.
Well I fucked up on the pics (had camera set to vid and I wasn't just standing out there all day) but yeah we're good. I can make it to the overpass and stuff.

He has no option for return since the highway was blocked going the other direction. He's made it out of the immediate Houston area going north.

That's good, yeah anyone who can leave probably should at this point. Looks like we're only halfway through it. My area is now expected to get somewhere around 30-50 inches total. We've already had over 20. Even double I still think we're good though.. Only the neighbors on my side of the street will be though.. Neighbor(s) across the street houses we're nearly letting in water last night at it's highest point. Their door steps only come up to my curb-ish though.

my apt and parents house are both next to braes bayou which has overflowed its banks by over 6 feet, both fucked

nobody has insurance

Spring creek at Jessie Jones park is flooded all the way up to the park fence, and the damn creek is like a mile away. Water is coming up the sewers. Also , George Bush airport is closed
