That said, it's pretty cool to be in the heavy winds like that so long as you're mostly protected by a strong building that shades you from the wind and stuff.. The last time I experienced something like that was Rita or whatever and we were at my friend's second story apartment that had a balcony that perfectly shielded us from all the wind because of the way it was built (stairs in the center, apartment on left or right side that juts out about 4 feet. I sat outside all night just watching the storm pass, there were transformers exploding everywhere and occasionally something 20 or 30 pounds would go flying right by just feet in front of me.

It was dangerous for sure but I mean, if you're stuck in it, you might as well experience it rather than hide from it. I'm not gonna lie though, that night I was pretty scared.. I didn't sleep well at all because I kept hearing explosions and thinking it was the roof ripping away and shit. The next morning the entire parking lot was a lake basically.. We've got pictures somewhere if my wife can find them.. We stayed there for another few days before we decided we needed to head inland because the entire area was just completely fucked up.
