Tight brothers and sisters!  It just started POURING rain here, but I am all geared up.  Hood is on and plates are purged.  As soon as it lets up a little bit (the rain) I am going to go to work on it.  Will keep you all posted.  Thanks again.

Those are most definitely a Pleurotus sp. unsure which one though.
Ive noticed once oysters start to get older the edges get discolored a bit.
Another indicator that they are oysters is the smell. Wild oysters smell a lot like anise or licorice.

Hi Duder.  I think it's an oak tree.  I'll snap a pic here in a few.  The temps around here have been in the low 80's and rainy, so the fungal life has really perked up around here over the last week.

Also the yellow bruising can occur when they dry out.

First round of clones did NOT work out due to the fruits being too wet from the rain.  This is after an 18 hour drying period.

So, went back to the patch, and attempted a round 2 of cloning, but this time onto some anti-biotic agar instead.

Here is what the patch looked like immediately after being harvested.

Now that the fruits are much drier they are expressing their natural scent, and they smell just like fresh oyster mushrooms.  Could not smell them in the rain that night.

Took three fruits.  From left to right are fruits #1, #2, and #3

Made 4 transfers of each fruit totaling 12 cloning samples all together.
