Anybody here study the I-Ching? 

I can understand why the I-Ching is not very popular.  There is a severity to the underlying logic and tautological categories.  The first Hexagram, The Creative Principle, deals with the inevitable encounter with the Superior Man.  Here is Terence Mckenna talking about his frightening encounter with an aggressive mathematical prodigy who was motivated to discredit McKenna for eternity.

Well you got to consider that you might have a better or different arrangement than the classical arrangements out there...

I for one think that 63..should be before completion..

and 64 should be after completion..

To sort of cap it off properly..otherwise your always just lagging behind in wander lust at the power..but maybe not the proper consideration(or otherwise sorting of) the proper I-Ching..

I haven't studied the 63 or 64 closely.  My version of the I-Ching is by Amber Publishing.


63 is named, Climax and After.  And 64 is named, Before Climax.   

I think the ordering is deliberately non-linear, because the book wants you to throw the 64 sided dice (50 sticks).

Much of the I-ching seems to be an intelligence test, and it also seems to be a communication tool for negotiation, where there really isn't much negotiation at all.  If you are skilled at using the I-Ching quickly, I imagine it would be a powerful tool to overwhelm just about anyone.

heard of this in one of Jungs book while speaking on synchronicity he briefely went over it... described it as a type sequence of chance, which is not the same as synchronicity.

I Ching and I are peas in a pod. Whenever I consult the I Ching I get exactly what I need to know, its striking.

Studying it is one thing but by all means, CONSULT IT!

I liked  the idea once expressed by Terrence via the analogy of the force  we call "time" being comparable to the wind which  shapes the particles of sand (matter)into a sand dunes current configuration (this present  moment)

Wonderful book The I Ching. Once you get past the creative and the receptive each hexagram becomes the inverse of the preceding one. Eventually they are stored away in the memory ready for the right occasion.

Moving lines are harder to remember but with constant practise it is possible. What I like is after having time away from it not much time is needed to get back that kind of memory.

It's actually a magical book. To symbolise that macrocosm that is nature. Reflecting its changes back through the different hexagrams and moving lines is so beautiful. We are a part of nature clearly defined through the I Ching.

I find it more engrossing than the tarot. Perhaps because I have to spend more time actually reading it.

This guy here in the shroomery, is kicking ass in I-Ching. I don't know if he is chinese native or constantly on LSD, but I guess it's one great way to get into it...
