Right, and what about the sentence in that source immediately after your quoted text?

"Another study, for the period 2000-2007, found that a 1% increase in the share of migrants in the UK’s working-age population lowers the average wage by 0.3% (Reed and Latorre 2009)."

There is also a whole paragraph in the same link that states -

"The effects of immigration on workers within specific wage ranges or in specific occupations are more significant. The greatest wage effects are found for low-waged workers even though those effects can be considered relatively small. Dustmann et al (2013) find that each 1% increase in the share of migrants in the UK-born working age population leads to a 0.6% decline in the wages of the 5% lowest paid workers and to an increase in the wages of higher paid workers. Another study focusing on wage effects at the occupational level during 1992 and 2006, found that, in the unskilled and semi-skilled service sector, a 1% rise in the share of migrants reduced average wages in that occupation by nearly 0.5% (Nickell and Salaheen 2008). They also find the same effect in an updated paper, in which they consider the period from 1992 and 2014, however in this extended period the average wage reduction for the unskilled and semi-skilled service sector is just under 0.2% (Nickell and Salaheen 2015)."

Yup, which means that qman's statement is wholly unsupported.  We have two studies that say wages go up.  One that says they go down.  None of them are statistically significant.

Meaning qman just made that shit up.

So IF the second study were correct, and if I were making $7.52/hr, what would my wage be with immigration?

As Enlil said, that amount is statistically insignificant anyway.

About 7.49£, assuming an increase of 1%

Closer to $7.50, which is so small it's likely well within the study's margin of error.

I'm sure the increase in working age migrants is higher than 1% though? What about when it hits 10 or 20%?

That's misstating the study.  It's talking about a 1% increase in the share, meaning that if immigrants are now 3% of the workforce, it would have to go to 4%.

What makes you think the workforce would ever be 20% immigrants?  That's ridiculous.

Ahh i see...so there is no problem now that it was fixed...but there was a problem before, correct?

You see how gov will overstep bounds but you won't publicly agree because it would be detrimental to your argument. LOL

I found this:

Looks to be about right, on face value. Not sure how they arrived at that number though.

Incorrect.  There was no violation of the constitution before, and there is none now either.

I realize YOU believe the mentally ill have a right to own guns, which they currently can, but it's not a constitutional right.

So how does the 11% increase in the share of migrant workers, correlate to the 0.3% decrease in wages at 1%?

That's true, that's why the elite have been in favor of both illegal/legal immigration and globalization.

As Enlil noted, you haven't presented any evidence that legal immigration lowers wages, and there are plenty of stronger arguments for why we have low wages.  I don't think I've seen a single argument from you in the past year outside some variation of "I want dark skinned people out of America, and I'll say ANYTHING to justify my position".

Why didn't you address my post in the think tank about immigration and wages?

Wait, I thought you said 11% total.  How did it become an 11% increase?  And what about that .44% wage increase per 1% increase in immigration?
