The Fundamental Masculine and Feminine Moralities
    #24427728 -

I wrote this essay today because some people were asking me about the idea of objective morality. Some of the esotericists or Taoists in here might find it interesting. Original here.

*

People often talk about one singular, monolithic, ideal morality as is God was sitting up in the heavens waiting for us to figure it out. The belief appears to be that if we ever did figure this out, we would all behave according to it and life on Earth would be harmonious forevermore.

This childish magical thinking is, of course, false. The reality is that there are two very different moralities that represent opposite ends of an ethical spectrum upon which all actions fall.

The fundamental masculine morality is to maintain good order, and the fundamental feminine morality is to allow life to naturally express itself.

Maintaining good order and allowing life to naturally express itself might not sound like contradictions necessarily, but they are still poles on an ethical spectrum.

One can convince oneself of this by realising that all threats to good order arise from the natural expression of life, and that all bad order restricts the natural expression of life. Likewise, all good order allows for the natural expression of life, and all unnatural expressions of life lead to bad order.

This means that it is commonplace for adherents of the masculine morality to want to destroy expressions of life that threaten good order, and it is commonplace for adherents of feminine morality to want to destroy bad order that prevents natural expression of life.

For the most part, it’s entirely possible for these two moralities to work together. But sometimes they don’t.

A man might act according to masculine morality when he tends to his garden. A gardener is not at all interested in allowing life to express itself through the form of weeds. His task is to maintain good order by keeping the weeds out, by keeping the plants in correctly spaced rows, to prevent the soil from becoming too wet or too dry etc.

A woman might act according to feminine morality when she raises a child. When raising a child, women are generally not particularly concerned with the degree of order that child has. What she wants is for the child to express itself through growth, to be healthy and strong, to feel joy at being alive, and this is made more difficult by forcing order on it.

Masculine and feminine moralities therefore come into conflict when a given order is considered good by some and bad by others.

In fact, this is how most conflict starts. A king might consider his kingdom’s operation to demonstrate good order, but there may be forces in the kingdom who disagree, and who consider his rulership to be bad order.

These forces will come into conflict because the natural expression of the sentiments of those who disagree with the king’s rule will conflict with the king’s desire to maintain order, and the king will find himself forced to stamp those sentiments out else risk chaos befalling the kingdom.

In the same way that silver is a compromise between clay and iron and more valuable than either on account of its finer balance, so too does the correct course of action in any given situation appear as a balance between the masculine and feminine moralities.

Morally retarded people are those who are unable to find a balance between the masculine and feminine moral orientations, and so they either try and impose maximum order upon everything (penis-worshippers and control freaks) or maximum chaos upon everything (postmodernists and hyperfeminists).

People who go too far down the masculine track start wanting to maintain order for order’s sake. The concept of good order is forgotten.

Our cannabis laws are an excellent example of an excess of masculine moral sentiment. It’s obvious to everyone that the New Zealand cannabis laws are not fit for purpose and must be changed, but those who wish to maintain order for order’s sake are unable to countenance so much as a conversation about the subject.

People who go too far down the feminine track start wanting to introduce chaos for chaos’s sake. The concept of healthy chaos is forgotten. These people essentially “just want to watch the world burn”.

The refugee policy of Europe over the past two decades is an excellent example of an excess of feminine moral sentiment. The refusal to discriminate between the natives and non-natives, usually for what are claimed to be moral reasons, has led to a collapse in good order as all manner of chancers have flooded in to compete with the natives for resources.

The only way out of our predicament will be to find the correct balance between the masculine desire for order and the feminine desire for free expression.

Metaphysically that means choosing the right combination of clay and iron so that the overall structure can be polished into silver.

In other words, the same as it ever was.

I understand you're trying to make your point with the examples you've used rather than being prescriptive but I'd like to chime in with the fact that not all females exude feminine energy and not all males exude male energy. We're all various degrees of both with some people at either extreme. Indeed, any model to describe masses of people (men are this, women are that etc) is fundamentally flawed as we're all just too individual and unique to do that. So I think the polarity is true but not necessarily the male / female emphasis. However, I do get what you're saying.

Further to that, wouldn't you say hyper-feminists are trying to impose their own order and control over males and actually have more in common with the penis worshipers and control freaks? Wouldn't you agree that the spectrum is circular rather than linear? And indeed, wouldn't you agree that the real spectrum underlying all of this is fear?

I wouldn't say that, because there doesn't appear to be an order desired by the hyper-feminists. They appear to simply desire chaos for the sake of chaos.

I'm interested to know why you think that. Surely the aim of all variants of feminism is to achieve equality with men. Since most organisations are exactly that - ordered and organised - women are trying to gain access to positions wherein they will uphold it's order. Furthermore, from my own limited but i assume fairly common experience, it seems to be mostly women who are involved in the administration side of organisations and indeed I remember from my school days how the girls were from a very early age just incredibly organised - we boys would turn up with, at most, half a blunt pencil behind our ears whilst the girls would have whole pencil cases full of different coloured pens, pencils, highlighters, erasers, sharpeners, protractors, folding rulers, post-its ... And now I think of it it's my wife who runs the diary in our household - like most of my friends and colleagues I'm actually quite chaotic in comparison. What is it they say about strong women behind successful men?

As I said in my first post, I don't think it's about men and women per se, but about male and female energy regardless of gender. However, I just don't agree with the premise of female energy preferring chaos over order either - it just doesn't seem that way to me.

What does seem obvious is that we all act more or less ordered or chaotic depending on how fearful we are - of anything and everything. We can all be chaotic to varying degrees when times are good but when times are bad we seek to control matters. Our life experiences make up our beliefs which in turn produce varying levels of fear around certain subjects. This level of fear is what dictates whether we, as individuals, attempt to control or let matters unfold no? And we will be attracted to organisations, jobs, situations etc which match our overall need for control ... ?

To really prove to ourself that there is no God we have to take the journey through knowledge of the ego, nature of sin, nature of reality, and then even after we shift into Christ consciousness and see that god is reality and that it's not alive, we then still have to inevitably sin against God, go through hell in the consciousness and then realize that god doesn't divide good from evil, it only divides reality from perception of reality, and sin is what is Perceived not what is evil.
There is no divine purpose and we have no obligation, everything is allowed in God but to experience anything that we call personification we have to bind our consciousness to some sort of an illusion or lie, but the only way to know that is to witness reality and experience all of this for ourself.
the more sinful we are, it's not that we're punished, it's that we're more full of perceptions and lies and can't see the truth, and the more social we are, the more sinful we are because sin depends on other people for competition for power, to come to reality we have to spend some time in meditation, not with our eyes closed but just observing without distractions and unless our friends are on board at the same time, then they're influence is going to obstruct our ability to educate ourselves about reality.
I am free of time, guilt, morality, lies, any opposition to what I believe, authority, fear of death, confusion. I have experienced both awakening and Christ consciousness, I am well educated on both subjects. Christians would call me the devil, saying that I am trying to drag people to hell. The bible has been made to seem like God divides good from evil but it only divides truth from the imagination, and the imagination can cause us much more trauma than reality ever could.
We have all seen hell, it's that feeling when you know you're gonna be in trouble as a kid, hell is the absence of the sense of security. With the believe in evil in mind, when we "sin against God" after we come to Christ consciousness and realize our true nature as this creature, we feel like we are in such a tremendous amount of trouble and the fear of hell in the afterlife hits us and creates the darkest place anyone can imagine, so dark that death becomes a blessing and every memory of our life becomes tainted with misery, and either someone thought it was real or found it beneficial to lie and wrote all this shit in the Bible, when in reality we're just a spec of dust in a meaningless world, and even the fact that it is meaningless means nothing, life is overrated, death is misinterpreted and treated as if it isn't real, we only have death to look forward to, but through this knowledge of truth we can be so enlightened that the concept of death is no different to us than a drop of water, and we are already as dead as the dirt we walk on.

and the thing about femininity and masculinity is that none of it is quantifiable, it exists on a spectrum, there is no objective separation between male and female, sex just works, it's not a divine function of reality, just like the rain doesn't fall on purpose it just falls and plants get watered, evolution just happens to work by taking one object and turning it into two things that are equal and opposite, that's even apparently the case in our own individual consciousness.
