Everquest anyone?

Anyone here play or used to play?

I just downloaded EQ 1 and 2 off steam as they are both free.

Starting a character in EQ1 now. Any tips?

Anyone interested in playing perhaps?

Depending on how it goes I might just play more Tera becouse it has such awesome graphics. But I want to check out the grandparent of MMO RPG's at least a bit. There are a ton of expansions/ content, even with the old graphics they are both 10-20GB. Lots of races and classes to choose from.

Would be cool to start off somewhere with another newb and grind for a bit.

Wow, after playing Tera on max graphics EQ looks like pong :lol:

The gameplay and content is what really counts though and EQ is huge :strokebeard:

I was reading some reviews about that and a few other patches that ruined the game for many people.

Since I have no prior EQ experience I think I will be able to enjoy it. Graphics aside :eek:

I did plenty of that too. Hell I went to a month long outdoors camp for a few summers.

Guess it going on steam got a lot of new players or something.

I'd love to. However, my graphics might not be up to snuff on my creaky old Dell Optiplex. But the granddaddy of them all was actually Ultima Online, which came out around 1996 or so. The graphics are so-so but not terrible but it's very playable, with lots of occupations to do to make money besides kill monsters. Plus you can even own your own house and form guilds with other players! Very groundbreaking and has many features which are carried on to this day. It would be very cool to have a Shroomery Guild, get ripped on some tasty weed and adventure with you wastoids. :grin: It's free to download and free to play with tons of different servers with a plethora of features.

Everquest 1 has pretty damn low system requirements, you should check perhaps.

Ultimatum online sounds kind of familiar. I will have to check it out as well.

A shroomery guild could be pretty cool. If anyone starts playing hit me up.

I have been trying out some various free MMO's to decide which I want to get into but I am down to play whatever really. Been meaning to try Neverwinter again as I have a decently high level character in that.

Looks pretty, but I don't think I've got the graphics horsepower to play. I just looked up the system requirements and my video gear isn't even listed, alas.

Do look into UO though. I'm not exactly a noob but I could teach you guys a bit. (It's been a while though. *sigh*) It does have a lot of custom worlds with a variety of features, and it's insanely fun.

Well, it depends on the shard you pick. You can go from Care-Bear lands to utter free for alls. I want to avoid one that has a lot of griefers.

I played it in beta and when it first came out. I never liked it much though. I vastly preferred other MMOs at the time, and now adays I avoid MMOs like the plague.

Nevertheless, it was a fun game back in the day. I tried to play it again recently but it just wasn't the same. Part of what made it so addictive and fun back in the day were the exact things that made it so bad. It had insane amount of downtime, leveling was a bitch, everything was unbelievably expensive, and the whole game was utterly pointless. These sound like bad things, but at the time these were the things that made it so good. Now it's just like a hollow shell of what once was.

I am pretty tired and probably going to crash early tonight.

My Wi-Fi is pretty bad on my new desktop but I managed to play Tera for awhile :shrug: so I should be good to go.

I wish I could get far enough in an MMO to make money :sad:

I had a friend who played runescape and wow and would scam people for $ he was such a scamp... The sad part was he was rich and pretty spoiled and dealt drugs... So he had literally no reason to be scamming people.

He would pretend to be a girl in runescape too and and convince people to "gift" him stuff...
