2 common factors are how you dry them and when you pick them. I think there is more of a debate on how much different substrates effect potency ... also genetics may have a small or big role in potency i don't know.

Pick 'em before the weil breaks, and dry 'em quick...use some dessicant to speed things up. Then I don't know how you could get low potency...it'd have to be genetic.

genetics is also my guess....She said they were all harvested just as the veil was about to break. Fan dried for 30 hours+- then eaten (didnt make it to dessicant chamber lol)

but they were mostly dry and the dose was upped a bit because of them not being totally dry. 2.8g's had no effect (a lil buzz/stoned feeling) but thats it.

maybe one needs to up the dose if the shrooms're weak - not that i'm suggesting you do this, of course.

My last flush on this one cake, me and another person each ate around 20 grams wet, me taking 25 grams. Both of us felt them some, but did not trip. I'm glad to come across this post, i was thinking i had done something wrong. So sometimes a cake will just produce not very potent fruits? It made me sad cause my first cake had mushrooms that made me trip very hard. Peace.

still...2.8 grams half dry might still come out to a little less than a half an 8th...not exactly super-dose....

it was assumed if they were cracker dry it woulda been 2- 2.3 area....should be enough ya know...

its gotta be genetics...this weekend another strain from the same conditions will be tested. ill update the thread if those end up sucky too, but they shouldnt.

listen CAKES SUCK. bulk or casings all the way. ive noticed myself that substrate has A LOT TO DO with potency. make an isolate and use it to make fruits on three different substrates. you know like cakes, casings, and manure/straw. then take the same amount of dried shrooms from each and see for yourself.

i have confidence that it is just a genetic problem...Some B+ grown in the exact same conditions will be tried this week.

Faith that they will work out....the whole process was optimum--so its gotta be genetics...
