Ganoderma tsugae - Conifer
Ganoderma lucidum - Deciduous

Though both of these do not have significant amounts of Ganoderic acids that are thought to boost immune responses, ect.
Only the super rare 1000 year old cultivated Black Reishi is medicinal.

That means all those Reishi immune boosting supplements and even drinks people buy dont have any health benefits associated with the fungi.
crazy, Contact Paul Kroeger in BC for more info, he was studying them.

something you may not know,,, maybe you do! I thought it was fascinating!

No there were never any pines on this property, just sweetgum and oaks.

Do you have a link where I could read more about that?

OPs finds look like G. curtisii or ravenelii, since he is in Georgia and found it on hardwood.

Ganoderma Curtisii seems more likely to me,  from what I remember seeing from one last year as it aged the stile turned red and cap stayed yellow with a white outter ring
