Anyone know where to get acrylic (plastic) downstems for bongs?

I have an acrylic bong and it's downstem style, it also works with the glass slides for the old school style of bongs because it's basically the same, except acrylic.


I'll be damned if I can find these anywhere. I feel like I saw some online years ago but I figured when I need to replace one in a glass bong I can just use these and they will likely never break.

Why are they so hard to find? I know a lot of acrylic bongs have metal slides and those are everywhere but not the same really and I figure I might start calling up headshops soon if I don't see them online.

Just get a glass one from any smoke shop :shrug:  get a couple if you're afraid they'll break since they're so cheap anyways

Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

You could probably make one. If you go to like Hobby Lobby or maybe even Home Depot/Lowes they most likely have tubes of plastic very similar in size  to what is used in bongs. You can flare the end yourself just using a lighter or flame to gently heat the plastic, then using a long metal rod inserted into the tube (the deeper it's inserted the lower the angle of the flare will be) apply gentle pressure to the heated end and turn the rod around the rim repeatedly.

If you happen to have a cone of some type that won't stick to melted plastic it'd be even easier, I'd put the cone in first turn it upside down with the cone resting on a table or something and just heat it enough to push the tube down until the flare is big enough.

Other than ordering them, they're probably going to be hard to find. Even back when plastic bongs were still extremely popular, I couldn't find stems that broke. I just made them. Made a few to replace glass ones when I didn't feel like going to buy more too.

I don't really have one I use or used in years (unless you count gas mask bong that never really gets used, it's just mostly for novelty) but I still have nostalgia for them. If I were still smoking regularly and were rebuilding my collection of paraphernalia I'd probably end up adding an acrylic to it all.

Those bongs represent the day I graduated from being awkward about drugs in junior high and smoking from soda cans and tin foil pipes :lol:.

Not sure if I would be interested in the leg work to figure out how to make the slides, but it seems more practical since they don't break and it's not the part that needs to really be glass. I don't want to buy them and have them sitting around etc and keep replacing them, fuck all that

Local headshops that sell bongs, pipes, youll find plastic accessories there I'm sure.  I'd be unsure if I went in too, but look first you find one :P

Be more careful with your glass, buy thicker glass, but never go acrylic man.
