5grams of a potent cube iso/clone is a completely different story. on that 5g level, ...whats a tv?

OP didnt even have a bad trip. just a experience during the trip. just like one during life.
doesnt mean someones life is bad just because of one short part of it.

Nobody is against OP or saying hes a bad person for taking 5g this was all aimed toward the other guy who came in after OPs original post saying its not even worth it to take anything less than 4 or 5gs and that 5g of potent cubes is a party dose. 5g of strong cubes is not a party dose and is horrible advice for any noob. 5g is an average dose for me but in no way is it a party dose especially for an inexperienced user. 5g of potent cubes is a pretty earth shattering experience for most people. Saying that it is a party dose for recreational purposes is just horrible misinformation especially for someone new to mushrooms looking for proper dosage advice. Did you even read the whole thread?

chosenone what quantity of mushrooms do you advise taken in order to avoid a "recreational" dose?

Id recommend a quarter of cubes,maybe 4-5 gr pans or azures, but whatever you are comfortable with. My posts were less about dose size and more about not retarding peoples development with fear and misinfo... even if it is commonly held to be true.

the active materials do not dissolve in hot water that quickly. They do but not that quickly.

So I would call it more like a 2 gram...

still every different person has different levels and it changes from time to time and growth to growth and also obviously set and setting.

also, even though you ate them on an empty stomach, 15 minutes for feeling it is a bit too fast.

I would suggest eating them straight out so that you can control the dose better.

and I think arguing about dosage is completely pointless.

my good friend sees god on 1.5gr and my other friend plays online poker on 8gr.

anybody who tries to tell you what your dosage should be is a moron.

for me, personally, 5gr dissolved in a tea is a weaker dosage today. It might change tomorrow.

I was arguing about people regurgitating mckenna knowing nothing and scaring people like OP.

Op was fine and most would be once they hit the peak and the realize its an euphoric dose...

I agree. For him (mckenna), 5gr was a good dose and now everyone thinks they should take exactly how much he took. or you should take 5gr, in darkness, by yourself.


The same with the elf machines on DMT. It has become the standard story of what you "should" see on DMT and even though he himself had had multiple different experiences.

none of the three things above, are necessarily "facts". at Johns Hopkins they give people a little bit less pure psilocybin, with optional eye shades (and partially outside), with classical music and two people watching. And an overwhelming percentage of people report positive trips.

from what i hear, the chance of panic etc goes higher with higher dosages (10-20gr) and you do not typically have a true experience with smaller doses (below 6-7gr). But these numbers change significantly from person to person.

I've only had a "problem" on a 5g dose one time that I can remember.  The rest of the times at that dosage have been very impressive and enjoyable.  Definitely not subtle, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't do too good at a party on that dosage.  Although, when you're at a party, up and around people, and talking, etc. you do have a tendency to snap back towards sobriety somewhat...so I may be able to handle it ok.  It's when you sit alone in the dark silence, just thinking about things that shit can get away from you quite handily.

As the dosage goes up from there, the "problems" go up in severity and liklihood for me.  I've done much higher doses and had things go very well...and I've had things go south in a serious way on "heroic dosage" that gave me a little more respect and fear for a 5g dose.

I have no shame saying I have a healthy terror towards mushrooms.  I'm also totally ok with anyone who wants to make fun of me for that -- after all, it's not between you and me...it's between me and the mushrooms.

It is healthy to respect the mushroom. Fear is were I get into trouble.

I cant ingest 10gr plus simply because for me it rivals iboga for me and that stuff scares the pants off me.

Total mind block... psychologically its very interesting to me because I just turn off of them when I even think about it.

The difference is I am not on here telling everyone day in and out that 8-9 gr(which for ME is a hero dose) is THE HERO DOSE, scaring noobs, and attacking anyone who dares disagree with the consensus.

IMO, 5 grams is just the starting point. I think many people dose too low on cubes, and perhaps McKenna thought the same, which is why he was screaming 5 grams, to get people to take enough to experience the mushroom on more of a level than what's expected on anything less. Granted, I don't have much experience over 7, I do have a number of doses in the 5-6 range and sometimes tell myself that I could handle more.

For me, 5 grams is a solid dose, but after about 2 hours, I'm up and about making tea and chilling. I can see why people can say that 5 grams is a party dose, because with a little experience, the ego is familar with the head space and is able to hold on much more easily when in charted waters. Besides the come up and about 45 minutes through the peak, I'm able to function fairly well on 5. Depending on the size of the party, I could totally see myself hanging out with some close friends.

Problem is, I don't have many close friends, so I just trip by myself.:grin:

Haha...I think the noobs will manage to scare themselves just fine, given enough access to infinite dosages of mushrooms.  It's inevitable human nature to get cocky.

Mushrooms will nip that shit in the bud PDQ.  I hit my wall at 140g of fresh potent isolated cubensis (Puerto Rican if I recall), mixed with 5g of syrian rue.  And believe me, I was dealing with some complications surrounding the nature of reality that night.  Will never make that mistake again.  Never, never, never. 

I haven't dosed on mushrooms in several years, and right now I'm just trying to build up the courage to take 3.5g.  I wish I didn't feel this way, and I know I'm being a pussy over nothing, but the terror is there.

I was exactly where you are a month ago.

I started back with an 8th and it was awesome.

My work out put has increased 10x and any slight depression I had about the futility of life is gone.
I was nervous the whole come up... but once I saw my lizard hands I was happier then I had been in 5 years.

For the sake of being safe starting a newb out on 5g of potent cubes is probably not a good idea is all ive been trying to say but it seem like most of you just throw safety right out the window so what do i know :shrug: when it comes down to it i dont give a fuck what any of you do. Seems like most of you taking no less than 5g are probably getting weak impotent shrooms so it kind of makes sense if your getting weak shit to up the dose.

From what I've heard he said he got bombarded with the entities/elves pretty much every single time he did it and he talked about how his DMT experience seems pretty radically different from most peoples'. As far as I know his only description that he claimed was universal and can be felt by virtually everyone was what he described with psilocybin.
