hm, your inventory is a little low...I would say take like a little coin purse worth, like six-eight, of your best ones, then be mysterious about your production speeds/demand/inventory. If he says he wants to see more, make sure you've got a place (even facebook would probably be ok) where your pieces are displayed and photographed well

I've got eight of my best set aside in quality cases professionally. 4 to each shop. The rest im planning on keeping in my truck unless they want to scoop them all. But I'm totally unaware how this process will go. Will it be a percentage thing? Will they buy them off of me outright? Or will it be a trial run with no funds received? So many questions, Blah.

I'm guessing if anything happens these shops will consign your stuff at a percentage once-sold. 10, 15 to 30%...50% if they're dicks? Idk.

Idk if they'll also try to charge you shelf rent.

If I had a store front and consigned your stuff, I'd only charge you a few dollars. Not even half my lunch, even if 1 piece is $150 - $300. Good luck finding me tho.

Slim chance they'll outright buy. non familiarity.

Another thing about these stores is their salesmen and how comfortable they make their guests feel. Hopefully being the best in the business also means their people are no less than top notch too. Some salesmen and other people behind the counter, unsell.


It's hard to gauge how well they'll sell until you put them out there for a while. After so many weeks or months, then you'll have a feeling of where it is going. If it doesn't sell well at one place it still may sell well at another shop. I wouldn't limit myself to just headshops.


If you've built up a good follow on Ebay after many years of listing, you can probably make okay money. Maybe there's a local shop that is high output on ebay...

But on ebay, search gemstone necklace. 75k results.

bloody flooded.

search Sold gemstone necklaces,,,
53k sold in the last few months.
Of that 53k, 45k of those were under $8...
People are cheap man. 29k @ under $2.
china...

the blue and green one is sick.  What kind of wire/gems is it?

Is that third from the left one a ring?  If so, a little too gaudy imo.  Wire wrapped rings can be really cool, but they should be delicate looking IMO.

Don't take offense, I still appreciate your work.

Yea, this is the same criticism I had of his work. Its so good but stylistically I think hes going to clunky and gaudy.

That Blue/green one is really cool. In that case the "gaudiness" works because it "supposed" to be gaudy IMO

This is the style you should be going for. People are actually spending ALOT of money for pieces like this. I went to Gem & Jam last night for Beats Antique and all the cool hippies want one.

No I don't wrap but do sterling silver and fine silver jewelry with my gems. I'm mostly about mining. Picked up the finest Morro Redondo brazil bi color tourmaline I've ever seen this year from some old stock. I paid out the ass but one of them is gonna cut a 10k facet.
