So is casting to pour liquid silver into a form or mold?

I tried silver smithing for awhile but I was really bad at it.

Yes it's a little more complicated than just pouring it in. You need a vacuum or centrifugal force to force the molten metal into the intricate cavities.

I started out with another form of metal casting large parts for machines. More research into that lead me into a more refined way of casting, which got me into jewelry casting. I'd rather work with smaller peices than larger things.

Yes, I just actually cast in my first stone today. It's definately a skill that's going to take practice.


As for trades I'm really not looking for anything, I have too much stuff as it is.
