Peruvian or pedro and s. rue
    #2391281 -

Here is a good one:

From Tihkal:

WITH MESCALINE

(with 100 mg harmaline, 60 mg mescaline (3,4,5-trimethoxyphenethylamine) [20 min]) "At two hours I was in a pleasant state of physical relaxation, a fine sense of well being, and I found music most enjoyable. From then to the fourth hour, thoughts flowed freely, and it became obvious that insight was a major part of this experience. Normally unconscious thoughts were easily available. It was as if I could observe my mind in operation, as facts were weighed to form conclusions. By the sixth hour music was a thing of beauty, with the higher notes crisp and clear. The harmaline has probably worn off. Sleep at eight hours, and the next day was without any adverse effects. This was a remarkable experience, the insight of TMA, and the relaxation of MDMA."

I would like to aproximate this expirience with p. torch and syrian rue. Please give me some aproximations of how much p. torch and
s.rue will yield aprox. 100mg of haramaline/harmine and 60 mg mescaline.

And if anyone has tried it or is willing to try it, please let me know your experience.

Thanks

Mixing MAOIs and PEAs together can/will be fatal.

Pure mesc is ok with MAOIs.

Tyramine can not be mixed with MAOIs.

So cacti + MAOI = risk

Mesc + MAOI = safe

Most cati have high levels tyramine inside them.

You cant mix MAOIs with tyramine.

So this can be risky.

I hope im not mixing the names up.

Our quest for discovery fuels our creativity in all fields, not just science. If we reached the end of the line, the human spirit would shrivel and die. But I don't think we will ever stand still: we shall increase in complexity, if not in depth, and shall always be the center on an expanding horizon of possibilities.

The interaction of tyramine with MAOIs is well known. If you don't know even the most basic things about MAOIs, why are you baselessly heckling someone who, for all you know, does know a thing or two about them? Who's the one spreading misinformation here?

Quote:
The goal of a dietary regimen compatible with the use of MAOI's is to avoid tyramine-containing foods which in general are fermented, desiccated, aged, or overripe (Table 2). Foods not listed in Table 2 could be of danger as well: when not fresh, tyrosine and other aromatic amino acids naturally present are degraded by bacteria with tyramine as a resultant byproduct. Tyramine stimulates the release of norepinephrine in the bloodstream and its absorption is blocked by MAOI. Sufficient exposure can therefore cause a norepinephrine surge resulting in hypertension. Symptoms include nausea, occipital headache, and even intracranial hemorrhage.

This information took seconds to look up on Google. You can do your own search to confirm that tyramine is in fact present in T. pachanoi, T. peruvianus, and at least 15 other Trichocereus species. (TIHKAL, pg. 667)

The fact that cacti have been used with MAOIs doesn't mean it's not risky. Different people react to chemicals differently, and a dose of tyramine with MAOIs that would be pretty safe for one person could be harmful or fatal to another person. The variability of alkaloid content in plants further compounds the problem. The nightshades have a long history of use; this only means it's possible to survive the experience, not that they will be safe for anyone in any situation.

My point is that what theshiftingwalls said was pretty accurate, although it may have overstated the case a little. zeta's response didn't contribute any new information to the discussion, and didn't make a coherent argument that what theshiftingwalls said was actually "misinformation".
