Well, I've never grown from seed, but T. Peruvianus isn't San Pedro. It's a different mescaline-containing cactus, closely related to San Pedro. I've heard conflicting reports as to how they compare in potency.

You might find this useful. It talks about potency of Peruvian Torch and San Pedro.

Neuros link is the best information I have found...
This is what I did...
- Planted seeds just below the soil surface. - Planted in a small heated propagator. - Commercial Cacti Soil + lime and calcium. - White plastic protects them from direct sun light. - Placed in a sunny location (south facing window). - Watered once every two days with spray gun, just enough to wet the surface. - Occasionaly I give them a heaver water to get the roots wet. - With the bottom heat the soil soon dries out. so watering often does not cause root rot. - While germinating they need to be watered more often, enough to prevent the soil drying out completely. - Soil was not sterilised (some say sterilise!) - The propagator was not sealed (air vents open) if sealed sterilisation would be recommended.

Hey does anybody know how long San Pedro and P. Torch seeds stay viable? I bought 100 of each from BBB, but I don't want to plant them for a while. Any advice?
