First: Courtesy and Respect - Lessons in the art of complaints I'll let a technical admin answer your question as they can better explain.

It's a combination of two factors:
One, we're experiencing intermittent instability with our mySQL database server. Recently it's been crashing roughly once a day. We always try to restart mySQL as quickly as possible, but if you visit the Shroomery when it's down you will see a message like "Lost connection to mySQL server during query" and the page won't load completely. We've been working hard to debug this problem and hope to have it resolved in the near future.
Two, over the past several weeks we've been the victim of numerous distributed denial of service attacks on the site. The attackers use many computers with fast internet connections to flood the Shroomery's server with bogus data, causing it to slow to a crawl and stop delivering content. If you visit the page while we're being subjected to a DDoS attack, it won't load at all. Unfortunately, blocking or tracing these attacks is extremely difficult. We have been working to protect our server from this malicious activity and we'll continue pursuing technical and legal measures to eliminate the problem completely.
We ask for your patience and understanding while we resolve these issues. The downtime is very frustrating for all the admins, and we know it is for our members too. There are some talented and dedicated people working hard to get things fixed, and it's only a matter of time until the site is stable again.
I hope this answers your question, if there's anything else you want to know I'll try and help.

I hate to tell ya, but it's not me. The people who need to grow up are those who accuse me of doing it without showing a single piece of evidence to support their claims.
I offered to help fix their mysql problem but they would rather just delete my posts, ban me from places, and make false accusations.
