I talked to a public defender and was told to plead not guilty? Wouldn't it make more sense to plead guilty?

Did you blow in the breath device/give a urine sample? Did you admit to being drunk/high? What proof do they have that you were intoxicated?
Sometimes the lawyer tells you to plead not guilty at first to work out a better deal for you and you'll end up pleading guilty at a later date.
Either way, quit driving drunk. It's not just your life who is at risk. An innocent person could die or get injured for life.

yep took a breathalyzer and a urine test. failed all field sobriety tests.
i know driving drunk is bad. it is not a habit. it was literally a one time situation and that first time happened to also result in my first (and last) dui. i am seeking legal advice. i already am well aware of the faults of my actions

I have driven on 3 hits of acid to work ( next lvl ) I have driven intoxicated plenty of times , on weed many times.. on cocaine a few times , yesterday I did waaaay too much meth , some k2 and some bud... And I could still drive better than 99% of the people on the road , I was hyperventilating I was mumbling could not think str8 and was tense as a monkey.... Still drive like a champ tho.. drivers license is suspended for not paying a ticket...... Ticket was for no license plate. Fucking idiots on the road man .. you barely drink a bit and crash or swerve like a grandpa ... Sad sad shit.... There's people out there who can drive fucked up ... Problem is everyone thinks they can handle it but they can't....... Only time I crashed it was in an apartment complex and I hit a parked truck..... I had taken Xanax and alcohol. ..... Never fucking again hahahabb

I hope you're not a parent. Or even an adult for that matter. When you are that high you don't know how well you are driving, and you definitely aren't paying attention to the other 99% of people on the road. You are an idiot.

1. Pleading not guilty is standard at your first hearing. From there the prosecutor and your pub. def. will arrange a plea deal. 2. EDIT: what I wrote originally was pretty harsh. But seriously you need to kick your own ass right now. Not for the trouble you've caused yourself but for the lives you could have ruined.

even if i was obviously intoxicated and the urine screen and breathalyzer have confirmed this? my bac was only like 0.039 so im hoping i can get the charge reduced, even though xanax will show in my system, there is no definitive proof that I was under the influence at that particular time.

Plead guilty man. Don't drag it out. You'll lose your license for a year. Quicker you plead guilty, quicker that year will go by.
Feels like an eternity, but it'll pass. If you drag it out, and if you know you were in the wrong morally and failed all the tests, you aren't gonna get out of it.
I drove drunk literally ONCE, at college, got pulled over before I even got out of 3rd gear. Plead guilty still buzzed at court the next morning.
Drinking and driving isn't worth it. I'm so lucky I didn't run someone on campus over. I hate when I know someone's been drinking and they choose to drive. I literally did it once, and I'm scared to death to drive even after a sip of alcohol now.
I learned my lesson. Losing your license for a year SUCKS. But in my honest opinion, if they simply took more people's license, they'd quit the bullshit.
I live in a rural area. No taxis. You'll find out who your friends are once you lose your license.
I was literally cooped up in my parents house for a year. Contemplated bad things often, it's a very isolating feeling not being able to drive yourself around, but it'll pass.
Good luck man. Please think twice next time before you drink and drive. Thank whatever your higher above is for not letting you kill someone.
A year without a license may sound like shit, but life in prison would be far worse.
Also, you're gonna have to get SR22 (High risk/drunk driving offenders) insurance. It's decently expensive if you have a newer car.
Luckily I have a POS as old as I am, and only liability insurance. Mines 125 a month.
Again,good luck man. Stay safe.

I drive the people who smoke with me and they all tell me I'm a superb driver. Because I really am.. The other night after fucking knows who bunch of ice I smoked some weed and k2 ... Weed alone makes me feel retarded , the k2 really did the trick. I could not communicate proper mumbling every single word , non existent short term memory , my legs and body were very tense .... Until my friend did the deep breath 10 count .... I figured I was tensing up because I was forgetting to breath .... So very other second I had to remind myself to breath. Complete lost of mind but I could drive in a str8 line , follow the speed limit and stay on point.... I am truly amazed how pure instinct works without the mind ????? I knew how to drive well but my mind was completely gone. Driving to work on 3 hits of acid is no joke especially since my eye sight is fucking shit.... I didn't mean to that but got called to work a nightshift alone..

How can you explain this phenomenon ? If Im driving and I begin toswerve or lose control I would pull in immediately since I would get pulled over or have the cops called on rather quick. Besides I've had my license suspended for many years now since I fucked up on a payment plan for a stop sign violation I have been driving illegally for about 5 years ... Sometimes realllyyyy fucked up and the only few times I was pulled over was for license play light was out and an illegal uturn

It won't be long before you hurt yourself or others. You are not invincible and that behavior is ridiculous. You don't have a "drivers instinct" when you are obliterated like that. You are just acting out of wasted stupidity and it's going to cost someone their life. If your friends are all just as high as you, my point again, they don't know how well you are driving because they are obliterated, and if they aren't high..why are you driving? You should really consider your actions.

But I completely agree driving high is that in some situations I enjoy it since I am in full control. Now I don't drive if I had more than 3 beers since alcohol sucks for driving after that. I enjoy driving stoned or preferably on uppers
