:whathesaid:

Treat them as you would food crops like tomatoes: plenty of water and ferts.
Don't put them in the sun, they'll grow smaller, thick leaves and nasty spines; keep them in the brightest shade you can get and with some wind blowing on them, they'll grow big, thin leaves and thick stems (this is a response to wind).
Pereskiopsis can be slow to pick up after the winter rest, never allow them to dry out too much or keep them too cold. If you do, it's better to make cuttings from the tips and rooting them, they'll start growing faster.
Once they awake and decide to grow, Peres will amaze you with their growth rate.

Best of luck.

I water them a lot, the soil isn't constantly moist but it gets a lot. I definitely should be feeding them more
Il remember that about the shade, thanks z

Yup, never realized they didn't like direct sun. These guys look like they are leaning away from the sun! The smaller ones I have are yellow and red

Size 15 sandal

They really loved the larger pot to be able to stretch it's roots. I also use a pre fertilized fairly organic mix from Wal-Mart. Maybe you need to feed your peres? Or more water, more soil?

Yeah I need to get them in a much larger pot...their mix is also about 1/3 mineral which is probably too high for fast growth
I've been giving just about everything this 20/20/20 plant food and it's making them explode, I had some tobacco in a way too tiny pot that just wasn't doing good at all
gave it some of that and they just shot up. Poor little guys
I don't give it to the tobacco I intend to ingest however.
My trichs went crazy though
all my seedlings are like lollipops now, such balloons at the tips

Were they all planted at the same time? Are they all the same clone?

Good eye, no they aren't the same clone. On the right (further from the sun) are the fury ones with larger leaves. The front front tend to naturally have smaller leaves. The sunny side ones have staining on the leaves like they have been sun burnt.

They were planted all at the same time, generally the same size, I was making a nursery for future projects. They worked out exactly as I wished so I'm content

They look very good, but what amazes me is the leaf size of the furry clone. Gotta get me some of that!

(mine behave exactly the same as yours, shying away from the sun and developing smallish, reddish leaves)

So how many people are still in this thing?

I was gonna treat my graft with GA3 to try to induce flowering but I think that I may have a crested pup. I've have thought I had some in the past but was just a double headed seedling however EVER pup on my graft is multi-headed and one seems to be legit crest. Didn't get a clear photo of the graft update so will try again tomorrow and post pictures then.

I'm still in. Lost one of my Lophophora alberto-vojtechi grafts (the one with the moustache ) but the rest is still going strong (although a bit odd at times). I'll try to snap some pics this weekend.

I'm still in but my three grafts are not growing as fast as yours zed.

I have one astro asterias super kabuto, one red flowering asterias and one loph alberto v.

Here they are :

It's amazing to see how all my astrophytum grafts are pupping from the vascular connection. Astrophytums don't like pupping from areoles

Here´s the next update (pics are from one week ago):
*I tried to edit the pics but I'm terribly inefficient at it, and got not much spare time, so in order to post pics more frequently (this guys are growing on me, and I want to update often to do them justice) I'll have to leave pics as they are. But I really appreciate the observation on pic size, and I'll consider it for next posts. Its no good scrolling side to side, so one can see the full pics, I know...

Its great to see more updates.
