Is she Jewish and wishing to find deeper meaning in esoteric Judaism, or has she just listened to that poseur Madonna who can successfully insult Christians, Hindus and Jews the world over with hardly any effort at all?

There are two approaches to it.

The jewish Mysticism and The Western Mystery Tradition.

i tried to get into it but found myself put off by the wierd complexities and endless corespondences

but to the best of my understanding the kabbalah is a tool for coming to a better understanding of god, although true comprehension of god is inacessible to humans (in this life at least) and thus we are seperated from it by the veils.

The tree of life is a map of the aspects of god as it manifested from nothingness into reality. First kether appeared, representing the first blooming of a creative principle. I think of this moment as the 'bid bang' a crystillization or explosion of something, of everything, out of nothing.

This is divided into 2 parts, a masculine and a feminine. This concept alone is so huge that you could spend you whole life trying to grasp its true essence. Think of the yin yang symbol. Everything exists in its opposite, and all things are composed of a positive and negative. THis holds the key to life: it is neither good nor evil, and evil is good, and good is evil, and neither exists without the other. THere is a masculine and a feminine, a passive and an active....

anyways thats as far as i got before my head started spinning, but it seems to me that the next sepiroth on the tree are really just further distinctions and expanations of these first 2 sephirotH (chokmah and Binah) just as chokmah and Binah are really just two halves of Kether. All things are held within one thing , as above so below>

we can see, if nothing else that god is in all things, even us, and that the kingdom earth comes from god and is held within him.

Woops

ahh its numerology is part an amalgamate of the current, Modern. the *tree* based on the characteristics/empowerments of numbers.

The tree of life is a map of the aspects of god as it manifested from nothingness into reality. First kether appeared, representing the first blooming of a creative principle. I think of this moment as the 'bid bang' a crystillization or explosion of something, of everything, out of nothing.

0 = The cosmic egg/idea of creation and love. 1 (kether) pioneering the idea with boundless quanta. 2 is separation of mass/densities and spacetime. 3 is manifestations of all life and love.

the creation of this universe is known as zero-three geometry in quantum cosmology (h-h). born out of love. can you imagine it?

oh forgot. 4 is to keep the creation's output from disintegrating and imploding (stability).

how i got 4. 0D + 1D + 2D + 3D = 4D hypersphere

the tree of life is missing a few points. If you use a logical process to make it symmetrical you end up with 14 sephiroth (13 + 0). What you end up with is the virtruvian grid. but thats not applicable in this world just yet.

I've said too much already. figure this shit out for yourself.

I dunno... whenever I hear kabbalah I think of mysticism... ultimately leading to a way of thought much in line with some kind of cult... which is OK in my book!

Seriously though, from what I've seen, read and heard (not much, I admit), it all sounds terribly complicated and mathematical... it's just not my bag baby. Life is complicated math, and yet it is simple... I tend to try to keep things simple, I don't think complicating things will get me closer to any all powerful being.

Uh, no. YHVH has always been. We're rather recent and momentary phenomena. If you're graced, you might experience being "filled by the Holy Spirit," or experience "...Adonai Echod" - "...the LORD is ONE," but S[He] is not we.

Indeed. The ONE first manifests into Chochma and Binah - Wisdom and Understanding, (which reminds me of Mircea Eliade's book 'The Two and the One'). My Lady and I identify with these aspects, yet I see that I also have Understanding. Conversely, My Lady is 'more' Understanding outwardly, yet she also has Wisdom. We similarly identify with Compassion and Wisdom in the Yab-Yum Tibetan figure of a female (Prajna-Wisdom) astride and embracing a male (Karuna-Compassion) in a sexual embrace - Union of the two are ONE.

Our home reflects many of the archetypal two-in-one manifestations. Our living room has wood-carved Sun-Moon conjunction motif in a carved coffee table, and high on a wall, [bracketed] by flanking dragons. From atop a ledge over a picture window, statues of Isis and Osirus, and their Union symbolized by a wall plaque of the Eye of Horus, hangs above and behind the two. My library has a bronze Yab-Yum on a bookshelf, as well as a framed representation of the Tree of Life.

Such symbolism serves as Transcendental, Transpersonal vehicles with which we can both project outwardly, and introject inwardly - that is, interpenetrate the Transcendental-Cosmic level with our own Earthly and mundane level of existence. Transcendental art, howsoever humble, serves as a continual reminder that we are in GOD and GOD suffuses our being. Life is a trip, and this is our set and setting. Shalom.

Ja, man, I really want to see pictures sometime.. when you talk about what you have in your house and the symbolism involved, it really catches my eye.. it really reminds me of feng shui in a way. Placing objects with meaning and intent.... everytime you are in that room you set up, you are going to experience it differently after placing all that intention in it..... :nut:
Peace.
