Dunedin, New Zealand, ID Request, actives?

Description

Habitat:
Found them growing on woodchips underneath/around some tussocks.

Gills:
Brown

Stem:
15-30mm long, 3-4mm diameter, white/blue, hollow, thick

Cap:
15-30mm diameter, pale brown with blue traces, smooth, convex

Spore print color:
In the process of taking it now, will post tomorrow morning.

Bruising:
Glorious glorious grey/blue

I'm a little concerned about the very first one (first two images), it seems a bit different, has a browner cap and although displaying a bit of bluing, seems to not be in the same realm as the others. I'm taking a spore print of them all though.

Hey mate, you cracked it. Dunno about that first picture like you said but the rest are all subs, what you are looking at is a little old or dried or both. Just biff the first two and you are 100 % safe. But rules go you should wait for a TI.

Hey man, the second mushroom onwards are P. subaeruginosa for sure, good shit! :thumbup:

As for the first, I don't know -- looking at just the underside, you'd be sure it's a sub, but the cap does look somewhat different. Hold off on that first one until someone with more experience chimes in. I'm almost certain it's active, but it might be more interesting than a regular sub!

I only collected the most obvious ones since it was 5:50pm by the time I found these and getting very very dark (I was digging around using my phone as a torch). There were a number of pins about and likely more in the local area. I'm going to go back tomorrow and grab any large ones and a bit of the medium to bring home and cultivate in my backyard. I don't think I'll need to give them a water, as it's supposed to rain tomorrow and Tuesday, but I might do so anyway.

Just need to look into drying and collecting more now, since I'd gather that at very best, this would be a microdose.

How many did you bring back? You'll be surprised at what just a few of these will do boiled for 10 mins or so man. But you did a good job at finding them, I took a few tiny pins on there bark/dirt/pine back with a bag full of the near surroundings and some wood chips and made a little environment in my back yard about 2 weeks ago. With all the stumps and mycelium being dumped there, they are growing their own pins. Pretty happy. The big and medium ones are only could for the spores I reckon. Always worth a go, if your transplanting them just remove a good spade worth of the earth under them so they aren't disturbed in any way. You rock.

Legit only brought back what's pictured. As I said, it was pretty dark and I was searching just off a pretty public path, so it looks kind of dodgy to see a guy picking mushrooms by torchlight :crazy2: I'll get these ones solidly confirmed (although I was pretty confident as soon as I saw that first, big one) and do the collection of the rest tomorrow.

Is making a tea a pretty common way? How do they taste?

Remember, P. subaeruginosa are about as strong as it gets. You absolutely have more than a microdose there. Each of those bigger ones will probably be about 0.3g dried, I'd guess (without having anything to reference the scale.)

In my experience, 0.15 - 0.2g is about the threshold dose; 0.5g is pretty fun, and you can definitely tell you've eaten mushrooms -- plenty of visual effects, time dilation, etc. 1g is where you really start getting into 'tripping' territory. Everyone's different, so don't take what I'm saying at face value, but you definitely have far, far above a threshold dose there.

Here's a photo to give you an idea of what they'll weigh. I strongly recommend getting scales and weighing your doses though! Tripping without weighing is pretty much a non-option, in my books.

Wicked post there Matai, they taste as they smell. Pretty yuck lol. Earthy, with a taste of imminent doom hahahah. I don't know about everyone else but teas are the most common way to do it round these ways, and other ways. You'd just chop them up when dry, boil them in just enough water to cover them for 10 mins, and add that shit to a milo or something you don't drink often. A bad experience might wreck coffee for ever hahahahahaha. I love coffee dunno 'bout you. Excited for you though.

I have a pretty shit scale that measures 1g at the smallest but these fellas are only about 4 grams in total.

Seems like a good small dose, everything seems visually a bit more there. Bit more blue in my whites, more green in my reds and all that.
