Help me brainstorm a character idea for an espionage RPG

My D&D friends and I are trying a new system called "Espionage!"

We'll probably be in a historically accurate setting, WW2 era I think. I would probably enjoy playing a russian or a german of some sort. But I don't want to just be a classic rogue, since the party will likely be full of them.

What are some other generic options in a spy campaign...I could be the tech guy perhaps, rig explosive, set up wire taps, synthesize useful chemicals/poisons, but what else?. B/E artist/forgery, charismatic disguise wearer, pilot/driver,

The DM in question is...difficult. He's really skilled and good to work with, but his games have such realism that I have trouble doing well, its just plain hard.

Yeah I suppose I dont have to be a secret agent type just because its an espionage campaign. arms dealer may be interesting side work

Nuclear scientist is a yes. Something akin to kreiger from archer.

Found an awesome addition to the medieval physician character I'm slowly developing. Leeches actually sound very worth trying in real life. I wonder if it would help people with ED to get hard.

I like flawed characters or unusual combinations

I might do something like Hal "otakon" Emmerich in MGS
A scientist who knows a thing or 2 about what the bad guys are doing
but cannot/is reluctant to fight for himself

a far sighted sniper
someone who can pick off targets long ways off
but is unable to read maps, signs, warnings, etc up close

making a drunk is always good for getting yourself/ the party into trouble

Emmerich.. the guy with bionic legs? Was just playing that. The whole scientist/military relationship is interesting to play off of

the guy with the legs is hal's father
but they are pretty much the same person
