I've heard many things about the benefits of meditation, and I would like to begin doing it, but I don't know how to do it properly. I was curious if any of you here did it, and could give me some advice, maybe suggest some links or a book on the subject. Well, Cheerio!

Read a book by Ram Dass called "Be Here Now"

Eco friendly extraction is the only way to go for Dmt, mescaline, and iboga

meditation is finding your inner zen
it is focusing within to search for that state of absolute nothingness
the all-encompassing void

breathe deep and rhythmically, let your thoughts flow.. let your body relax.. focus..focus..focus.. on your breathing at first.. deep..the kind that moves your stomach out more then your chest.. filling the bottom of your lungs.. pace the same count on inhale as exhale, and pause for half the time after exhale. by focusing all your thoughts on your breathing is a way of meditation.

The basic object here is to train your mind or consciousness to FOCUS.. on one thing.. so practice focusing on one thing.. for example you may have a stream of five million thoughts cycling through your head..but just let them be and take no part in them.. play the role of the impartial observer... observing your insides.

Well. I always recomend this exellent book to my students:

Meditations from the Tantras
by Swami Satyananda Saraswati

Half is Tantra wisdom & philosophy, the rest are meditation practices. The best would be if you can find yourself a teacher to show you first, then you can continue to practice for yourself.

Swami! I had no idea! *still suspects you of writing that Powers of Mind book*

Hehe, sorry, excuse me, I'm insane. :nut:

I've never really tried mediation too much, but a lot of times when I go to bed I will focus my thoughts on my breath.. pretty much just like Shroomism described. My dreams usually become much more vivid if I fade into sleep while doing this...

I wouldn't suggest starting out with meditation by doing it like fucking hours a day.. transition into it. Some people throw themselves into it and they reach a place where they can't really cope with all the awareness they have discovered. Know your limits and slowly expand them..

If I should die this very moment
I wouldn't fear
For I've never known completeness
Like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you

many websites have good advice per meditations methods...
no doubt there are a few clunkers out there as well  ...
your friendly local public library will have some available for borrowing... from classics like le shan's _how to meditate_ to stuff like _the comlete idiot's guide to meditiation_ (i kid you not...)
seek (or googlesearch, or search the shroomery threads, or... whatever...) and you shall find...

old enough to know better
not old enough to care
