Forced to skip the superbowl * 2

So I am in a group project with 3 other girls. I assume that none of them watch sports. But they wanted to make our group meet at 4-7pm on Sunday. The superbowl is right around then. This is a pain. I said this in a kind manner

The group chat looks like this:
Girl 1: Hey so I got the room reserved in our library.
*picture of room reservation*
Girl 2: Awesome!
Me: Hey that time coincides with the super bowl. Could we do another time? I can reserve a room another time earlier in the day
Girl 3: Well I like to wake up late on sunday so probably not
Me: Is there any way we could work around this? Any comprimses that could be made?
Girl 3: Nope. I need my beauty sleep!

I don't wanna start an arguement with the people I will work with. But what the actual fuck? The super bowl is universally known to happen this sunday at 3-7pm. If I don't go, they will grade me poorly on a partipcation sheet they are forced to fill out at the end of the project. This is like 25% of my grade


What the fuck? I would complain to the professor that I need a new group but that comes off as childish. I guess I am missing the superbowl...

EDIT: I dont like group projects. I hate relying on other people and inconsistent preferences and needs. Why is this a part of my education? I usually end up doing most of the work anyways

haha seriously. I dont even know how to handle this situation. I just put money on a keg and some weed for that day. My buddies already bought it. I rarely drink or smoke these days. I actually planned this shit

Seriously, I don't even watch sports but the super bowl only comes once a year.
If they want to sleep in then that's not a good excuse, and that's what you should tell them.
Does the grading each other work both ways?
You have every right to rate them poorly for not compromising.
Or you can play along with their shit and still have a 50/50 shot of them giving you a bad score anyway just because there's a 50/50 chance of them being in a bad mood when they rate you.

I wont bring up the fact I planned on getting fucked up at the time. I WILL say I planned on watching the superbowl

and I am not sure how to handle the delicate situation. I have like 2 more projects and this girl is basically the main one that is having an issue with the times. All other times work for the other two

I will talk to her tomorrow in class and try and slightly hint at her irrationality. If not, then I guess I have little choice but to just report it to the professor as qman is suggesting. Its pretty unreasonable behavoir IMO

I am apprehensive to escalate because this class is a advanced lit class and much my grade relies on group writing related projects. So I will see if there is anything that can be worked out

if the above plan does not work, I will just not show up and grade this girl in particular poorly. I dont even care much about the superbowl. Its a social thing mainly. And THATS what I care about, my buddy is throwing a huge party

I'd say go tell the professor. Just because you want to get the work done EARLIER than planned and one of those chicks can't do it because she "needs her beauty sleep" I'd say tough shit, get up get the work done so you can go back to sleep and I can go get fucked up for SB. If she refuses, can't you report her for skipping to do work over "beauty sleep" the same way she can report you???

Your prof may not see your reason for not liking their chosen time as being any "better" than their reason for not liking your chosen time. Is there any way of doing your part without coming though?

I will just talk to prof. Tomorrow is the last chance. I want to avoid conflict at all costs because I have to work with these women. Conflict is the last resort

The Superbowl doesn't even kick off until like 5 PM. That's plenty of time for those selfish bitches to sleep in and still get there at a reasonable time so OP can go catch the Superbowl or do whatever he wants to do in the evening

Them telling him no straight up, and that their sleep is more valuable than whatever he's got going on is some next level bullshit
