Classic Cartoons
    #22717889 -

These first videos are not too high in production quality when in comparison to some of the other edits available, so if you like them, but want a better quality of them, just search for them.

Jack Frost - (1934)

Jack Frost paints the leaves orange and brown as he warns the animals of the forest that Old Man Winter is coming. A bear cub mocks the idea, via song. He's a grizzly bear, he declares; and he's got a nice, warm coat. Later, his mother tucks him into bed, but he tries to sneak away. She spanks him and puts him back to bed. Tearfully, he runs away from home. He enjoys seeing the jack o' lanterns come to life, and listening to the scarecrow scat sing. But suddenly Old Man Winter arrives, and the poor bear cub is freezing. He'll need Jack Frost's help, in this animated musical short.

Christmas Comes But Once a Year (1936)
Release Date: 4 December 1936 (USA)

In Christmas Comes But Once a Year
The children at the orphanage are thrilled to wake up and find plenty of new toys on Christmas morning. Unfortunately, all of them break or fall apart within a few seconds. Prof. Grampy, the inventor, passes by in his motorized sled and hears the wailing of the disappointed orphans, which brings him to the door to investigate. When he learns what is wrong, he puts on his thinking cap and quickly comes up with a plan to make everything all right. He sneaks into the kitchen through the window, takes out every pot, pan, plate, spoon, etc., and builds better toys than the kids could have dreamed of.

This cartoon used a process called the Stereoptical Camera or Setback created in 1934 as a variation on the multiplane camera. Three-dimensional sets were created so that animation cels could be placed in a realistic background allowing the characters to move about an actual miniature stage. The scenes were shot with a horizontal camera and the set was rotated on a turntable for background motion. The opening shot of the orphanage and the final shot of the umbrella tree were completed using this process.

This short was Professor Grampy's only film without Betty Boop. It is also the character's only film in color.

The orphans are all based on the same template except for the baby who tries to reach the toy soldier in his stocking and fails.

Cheers.

Flip the Frog is an animated cartoon character created by American animator Ub Iwerks. He starred in a series of cartoons produced by Celebrity Pictures and distributed through Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1930 to 1933. The series had many recurring characters besides Flip; including Flip's dog, the mule Orace, and a dizzy neighborhood spinster.

Cheers.

Uncle Tom and Little Eva (1932)

It is a rare and racist Cartoon, based off slavery novels, but was funny and ok then in 1932. This was entertainment back then. There isn't much info I found on Uncle Tom and Little Eve just doing a quick search although I did find in the review on IMDB area some comments which I thought were pretty funny.

Cheers.
