140 million year old hammer, Paleolithic Chauvet Cave Paintings * 1
    #22706436 -

Okay. So I'm not one for "nutter" stuff, but the more I see of things like this it really makes me wonder how long humans have been here.

The privatized testing of the hammer troubles me, but a Creationist now owns it and refuses to have it tested.

Quote:
The trials spent in Battelle Laboratory indicate  to unusual composition of the hammer, consisting of 96 % of iron, 2,6 % of chlorine and 0,74 % of sulfur (not Carboneum). Test for strength had shown, that it was casting of excellent quality, free of any beads (bubbles) and inclusions.

The unique layer of iron oxide which is not characteristic for the modern atmospheric environment, protected the hammer from rust. And notch made on the hammer in 1934 (or 1936) (with the help of rat-file) was not oxidised till now.

Rocks containing the hammer are semigrown together concretions of calcareous sandstones. Ann Cairns from the Geological Society of America cites data that in analogous rocks several miles upwards the brook  the Lower Cretaceous fossils have been found out. And the rock is a part of the Lower Cretaceous Edwards Plateau which was formed 140 million years ago when dinosaurs dominated on the Earth.

As for the Chauvet Cave ("Cave of Forgotten Dreams") in France, paintings were made across multiple cave formations and the habitat in which they were created has essentially created a time capsule.

The paintings were, theoretically, made to induce a feeling of the animals moving and migrating and roaming the plains; perhaps when torches illuminated the caves, or ritual practices.

There's an amazing documentary on Netflix, I suggest it be watched. Seeing it sober is trippy like no other, seeing it on psychedelics is mind-bending.

Scientists have found that additional paintings were added tens of thousands of years later, as much as approx 45,000 years.

The "handprint" paintings were done by presumably a male over 6 feet tall.

Quote:
The dates have been a matter of dispute but a study published in 2012 supports placing the art in the Aurignacian period, approximately 32,000–30,000 BP.

How old are we, truly?

Do you think we did indeed walk amongst the dinosaurs? The hammer a hoax and the caves an epic troll?

I find that perhaps the caves are mostly true, but I'm very speculative on the hammer.

Yeah that hammer has got to be a hoax. With that said, I do believe that humans have been around longer than mainstream science would have us think, and that there were sophisticated large scale civilizations prior to the end of the last ice age.

I think humans and in particular civilization has been around a lot longer than we think.

It's fucked up that some bitch-ass creationist owns it and won't have it tested.

Whether this is fake or not doesn't change the fact that our idea of ancient civilization is changing. It's a slow process to get the mainstream to abandon the ideas they've been teaching for so long but I suspect the evidence will be irrefutable pretty soon. In the words of Graham Hancock "Things just keep getting older."

I think the hammer more likely to be a hoax.. it can't be that old and that perfect.. but can it? It's hard to find anything except "yeah its this old, buuutttt..."

That's an amazing quote, thank you!

I believe the advent of the Internet and the sciences being taken more seriously will lead us further down the path of exploring our true roots.

It's weird to think that, if humans are as old as the hammer, we use them for fossil fuels.

It's equally as hard that there are no human remains in the Chauvet caves, but we can map their height and hand sizes and male/female simply based on paintings.

I remember growing up and being taught the Egyptians were a fluke civilization until God decided to make us. This stuff was in both public and private school textbooks and lauded by teachers, but that was early 80's.

The Chauvet cave has multiple extinct species perfectly preserved. Blows my mind.

"to avoid conceding that it is a hoax, some conspiracy theorists have suggested that the “ancient mobile phone” was probably created by a time traveler who saw the object in modern times and returned to the past to recreate it."

Homo sapiens have been around since about 200,000 years ago.  I think it's likely that we figured out how to paint cave walls after 170,000 years.

The hammer is definitely a hoax or a misunderstanding.

unlikely a hoax but certainly a misrepresentation

All speculation... not a single one of you can hit that dart board, bullseyed.  Put down the books and look at the sky.

Find me one person who knows the whole story of what's going on here.  All I know for sure is, you're in it...

Has anyone seen the 2min video showing a pyrimid emerging out in the middle of the bermuda triangle? Man I so want that to be real.
