MY PC BROKE DOWN!

i was boiling, as usial, when it at some point got dry, so i pored in extra water, witch resulted in the cracking of the jars. :frown:

nomatter, everything seemed fine, but now it just WONT get pressurised

iv loosened everything i can, and then srewing it as tight as i can, ;(((

oh. i have a "rocker" type pc.

help!

what kind of safety valve does it have on it? my old one had a screw with soddering in it and when the pressure gets to high you have to replace the thing, I let mine dry out and it blew it cost like $10 for the valve so I just got a new PC for $12 and it's got the good safety valves that are spring loaded and don't blow out, if you have like 3 knobs on the lid it's the same as my new one if not you gotta replace the safety probably

I work at a mall and this lady that sells cookery in a keyosk (sp?) sold it to me at cost :smile:

sounds likt the thin aluminum ones.... it's possible you warped it... check the gasket, if its cracked replace it... also check the pressure let down/ safety plug.... this is assuming your has these....if none of it works or involves more than 3 parts....replace the PC....

hum, i dont know, iv boild and flashed with a flashlight to see steam, and it seems to be coming from the thing in the middle, but some steam allso comes up from the sides.. but, it has allwayes leaked a bit steam...

A little steam coming from the pressure relief is normal , steam coming from around the perimeter , where the lid meets the pot itself , is a sign that the gasket/seal is bad , get a replacement and see if that corrects the problem .

if its coming from the sides it's time to replace it...there are no replacement parts for that one...

dam dam dam. so i guess the heat from stove in the absense of water made the rubberseal hard and bad. :frown:
