Thankfuly the 'inbredidness' only shows up in HRH prince charles in the form of those tremendous ear lugs.
Of his offspring, there is of course, the ginger one...

Forty fifth time I've noticed deficiencies in your powers of observation. I mention eels at least 400,000 times a day. I've actually met Queen Elizabeth, for real and she's incredibly boring but seems pretty humble for a person given masses of importance for no fucking reason.

Genuinely, yes. A relative got an OBE and I had like 15 seconds speaking to her. She's far less of a bad person than anyone in such a position can be expected to be. The inside of Buckingham Palace is like a fucking Zelda dungeon. 10,000 identical things in a row but with all sorts of winds and turns apparently designed to throw you off. Without a guide you could probably starve to death in there.

But yeah, based on 14 year old memories, she was a perfectly decent person and seemed to find it kind of amusing that she had to knight people and shit, but I may have just been projecting my own views.

If by lollipop man/woman you meant the people who guide children across the road and have giant stop signs, I'd know exactly what you meant, but they're really rare now. If you meant something else, I don't have a clue.

So.. When she dies what happens?
Charles and then William? And if both die, who is next? Harry or William's child?

And she has a husband, right?

lol. Yeah he has the freedom to party a little as he is not likely (sans some calamity) to have to ascend the throne.

If everyone in this country took their duties as seriously as the Queen, and her husband, the  Duke of Edinburgh, this country wouldn't be quite so far down the shitter as it is.

For the Canadian and British posters: In school did you sing "God Save The Queen" every morning?

Truth?

Quote:
Land ownership in Canada is held by governments, Native groups, corporations, and individuals. Canada is the second largest country in the world by area; at 9,093,507 km² or 3,511,085 mi² of land (and more if fresh water is included) it occupies more than 6% of the Earth's surface. Since Canada uses primarily English-derived common law, the holders of the land actually have land tenure (permission to hold land from the Crown) rather than absolute ownership

Canada's national anthem is "O Canada," that's what's sung in the morning in schools (often they go through the whole thing twice, in English and French.) "God Save The Queen" was the official national anthem before 1980, not sure if they sang that in schools instead of or along with "O Canada."

When I was young we sang O Canada and said the Lord's Prayer.
When I got older, we stood and listened to an instrumental version of O Canada on the intercom.

Queen was just a face on money though.

Not in my part of the UK, England. We don't have any form of the 'pledge of allegiance' either.

They used to play the national anthem on the close of programming on BBC television broadcasts. I havn't had a television licence in over ten years... (more quaintness eh?)
so I don't know if they still do, or, if programming ever ends, I believe it's like 24/7 these days.

They do still play the national anthem on the BBC's  radio 4  before it goes over to the BBC world service  at 1am.

So what if the queen were to die, would God Save The Queen still be sung, or would it be changed to something about the King (Charles)?
