They?re not only 'accepted' in the UK but in whole europe. Nah ok, I don?t really know, but at least in germany. QUEEN definately belong to the greatest bands ever!

Thanks for the inspiration, I should look for my old CDs and start some Queen-Revival!

I dont know what part of the World you guys are from but in my little part of it Queen is a four letter word. Christ! FreddyMcFcukMercurry! AhHhHHhHhHhHhhhH!
Main Stream Operatic Glam Rock Music. Completely wrong, just so, so wrong, for so, so many reasons.

EDIT: Thats maybe a bit harsh but i'm a musical snob and i've had to sit and listen to Queen under duress while trippin', not a fan at all.

*slap*

Don't disrepect the giants that are Queen!

I bought my Father a signed photo of Freddie Mercury. He's wearing that famous yellow jacket during the Magic Tour. Now that is the one concert I wish I'd seen.

Queen were a big influence for me through my teenage years, and got me through some tough times. The album "Innuendo" saved my life.  :sun:

I don't see how you can't enjoy Greatest Hits 1. It's just a great liten. Every track is great; which probably inspired the name . For my tastes, most of 2 and 3 are just a bit too camp, and definately they got way too pomp and glam. But Brian May's guitar is cool. And Mercury's got a great voice, and his piano's good too.

In my experience, musical snobs and critics usually know much less about music than they think.

"In my experience, musical snobs and critics usually know much less about music than they think."

Sounds like a challenge to me.

"SummerBreeze, your specialist subject is 'choice music from 1959 to present day', excludin' of course Queen, 'cause they were shite. Your time starts now!"

Its not a question of debate. Someone above mentioned "camp", yes, thats right, camp as a row of bright pink tents with frilly bits that have been placed in Camp Town for a Gay Pride festival.
Laughable. Ludicrious. Lampoon like. Lilly livered middle of the road bland pop/rock.
Satanist music for kids.

My keyboard is wet from tears of laughter.

No more, please, no more!

I grew up listening to Queen on log car journeys, I think they were great.

Have you ever listened to Josh Fix and the Furious Force?  To me they sound like a cross between Queen and Ben Folds Five (among other things).  Whiskey & Speed is a really good example of this (all of their tracks are available for download).

--------------------
The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame".

In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience.

And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him.

"Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.
