    Northwestern isn't very good anyway, but imagine how it would fuck up the balance in basketball if (private) Duke paid their players and (public) North Carolina didn't.
    Northwestern got the ball rolling and I think the immediate effect will be to establish insurance policies to take care of players who get long term injuries. But in the long run, the NCAA is such a cash cow, they will have to share revenues with the players someday, or maybe the superconferences will dump the NCAA.
    I don't know how they will ever get over the issues of compensating stars that everybody comes to see, important roll players and bench players that hardly play.
