Which sport has the most star power?
    #5917703 - 07/31/06 04:12 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

While nearly all spectator sports require team work and team chemistry to win, it seems some, more so than others, rely on a central franchise player with the rest of the team being something of a backup (whether good or bad).

Soccer seems to rely rentirely on team chemistry. Even Brazil in the World Cup didn't survive to the end despite having one the best two players in the world (Ronaldo and Ronaldhino). Hockey, while only limited to 5 skaters on the ice, star power usually seems to rise in the goaltenders more so than skaters, since hockey has an endless array of specific play line-ups consisting very differing players (depending on chemistry). Basketball on the other hand seems to have alot of star power, as seen in the clutch performances of Dwayne Wade this year.

So which sport has the most star power?

Forgetting golf, which is a sport about as much as darts is, and tennis, which nobody gives a shit about, and boxing, which has totally been destroyed by the Don Kings of the world, the only one where an individual can carry a whole team is basketball. But that's because there are the smallest number of players. Duh.

id say basketball.. like u pointed out.. many teams can get by by having a "franchise" player.. lebron james, dewayne wade, carmelo anthony, kobe byrant, ect.. these are all players who can win a game by themselves.. even football you have your stars but everyone has to do their job to be successful

Basketball hands down.
