He's undersize, quick as hell, EXCELLENT tackler, gets all up in teammates faces' if they're fucking around, and plays injured.
And I've met him, cool and humble guy...
yeah, al wilson's a great player
something i didn't realize until a while ago, John Mobley was picked ahead of Ray Lewis

Steve Nash - I was mad when the mavs traded him. Pretty short for basketball and he makes the whole team better.

Until Gretzky, Mr Orr was the best player I ever saw. He revolutionized the position of defenseman in hockey. But I hated the Bruins. Bunch of chippy cunts. My favorite player was Guy LaFleur. No helmet and just pure grace on the ice.

Bobby was the man, so silky smooth and for most of his career did it on one leg. If he would have played today the advances in knee surgery would have allowed him to win 20 instead of 8 Norris trophies.
I have him 1a to Gretz at one 1b.

Good call.
If we're talking boxing I'd have to say Carmen Basilio and not just because he's a distant cousin of mine. I've sat down and talked with him at family reunions on many occasions. He's an all around stand up guy with many accomplishments in the boxing world and very cool to talk with.

Carmen is a badass.
Before the first Robinson at the presser a reporter said to him that all 15 out of a poll of journalists predicted a Sugar Ray win. He gets up coldly and says "Well 15 of those men are wrong" He then got in the ring and hounded and pounded on the best p4p fighter ever to win the Middleweight title.
Carmen is a badass.

I'm sorry to hear that. The totality of his beauty was in the moment and immediacy of the game, never knowing what was going to happen. And then it did. That fucking parallel goal he scored, I think against the Rangers, was sublime. Game winner, I believe. He really was Gretzky before Gretzky.
That stick has the two best players ever on it.

Good to see Joe Crede on your list. I think he's the best defensive third baseman in the league and he is one of the best clutch hitters that you'll ever see.
