i know i need a serious late pass on this, but after four hits of real lsd i was finally ready to hear flying lotus's cosmogramma yesterday morning. i just never really got it up until then, and i've been a longtime fan.

I listened to that album quite a lot, and I never really came to like it.  It has an original sound, but it seems so short and like a collection of skits.

i did too. i think los angeles is still his best. cosmogramma seems to be one of those that you have to be tripping balls to really understand. i had 19 hours of music lined up on spotify and ended up listening to that, and it completely took me by surprise.

this album also took me by surprise this past friday. i loved this album the first time i heard it. such a cool, well executed concept. hearing it while tripping made me appreciate it even more. genius.



on a completely different tip, i don't think i've mentioned this album yet in this thread, but this has also blown my mind while tripping.



there are a couple of songs that could be weeded out, especially towards the end after "the leopard". but at its best moments it is absolutely jaw dropping. i hear so many bands that came after this in the following decades, but the musical ideas that hitchcock conveys are as fresh and interesting as they ever were.
