i think sgt. pepper's is better then MMT
come on.... "within you without you"
awesome sitar... very tribal
insightful lyrics..
and Lucy in the sky
and Being for the benefit of mr kite
I've got to admit it's getting better!
it's getting better all the time!
blah... beatles kick ass in general, psychadelic or not... not that the other bands don't kick ass...
because Jimi and Floyd certainly do
i'm not too big of a doors fan but i like them
check out some Syd Barret independent albums
if you don't know who he is, he was in Floyd, left in 1970 maybe?
experimented with LSD a lot, i think he was the one that brought on the psychadelic edge... unfortunetly he took too much, and developed schizophrenia. not sure how accurate that is... on Piper he wrote most the songs and i believe he's doing vocals too
interstellar overdrive kicks ass

The Doors is probably my favorite band ever, but thats more of a stoned type music...Surrealistic Pillow is by far the most psychedelic album I've ever heard...I mean...Shiiiit....

Electric Music for the Mind and Body---Country Joe and the fish
CJ and the Fish was a combo of Barry melton's band the fish and country Joe Mcdonald. They did war protest songs and were quite big in 67-69, the song bass strings and section 43 was pretty popular. They were definatley a big name in the berkely psychedelic scene. Check em out, the album i named was described by band members as "made on LSD, with LSD, for LSD, and for those who use LSD, while on LSD"

Fuck yes. That's a great record.
My two personal favourites are probably:
Vortura -- Bailterspace
Robot World -- Bailterspace
...and Goo by Sonic Youth is pretty good while tripping too...

"The Soft Parade has now begun, listen to the engines hum, people out to have some fun, a cobra on my left... leopard on my right." I believe it was their third album?
here's a review:
The Soft Parade - July 1969 The Soft Parade is a true break with the traditional 'Doors sound'. The album, as with 'Morrison Hotel', hits their blues roots, and includes a few more Morrison ballads. The band only includes one track, 'Wild Child', that could easily be identifiable as a Doors song. The title track to this album compares in length and complexity to 'The End', or 'When the Music's Over'. This album does lack Jim's normal lyrical tastes, leaving the music unlike anything else done by the Doors.
