little piece of shit in my elbow

So I was riding one of those two wheel ripstick skateboards down a hill and fell on my elbow about 3 weeks ago. I later realized they are not meant to be used down or uphill because you sway to keep it moving. It didn't hurt much but it left a pretty big scrape and my elbow swole up immediately and it has been progressively getting better.

feels like I keep hitting it on everything on accident. I just felt the end of my elbow and felt a little piece of something in there, no biggie tho, anyone have any stories of getting hurt stupidly.

I had a metal lab spatula impaled an inch under my kneecap. That I just pulled out and put a band aide on it.

I got hit in the forehead with a golf club when I stood too close to my friend as he teed off. That required a bunch of stitches.

I got hit in the face with a baseball bat when I was playing catcher when the batters grip slipped on his backswing.

I know I'm forgetting something

i was trying to pry up a bit of plywood subfloor by using the claw of a framing hammer.  i couldn't get the claw under the edge of the board, so my boss comes over and taps my hammer with his hammer.  A shard chips off of my hammer at high speed and embeds into the soft inside of my elbow.  It didn't hurt much, but it was bleeding like crazy, and these are plumbers tools( both of those hammers have been used to dig through shit-mud under houses and whatnot) so i went to urgent care where they gave me some shots, and some x-rays showing the little shard way up inside my elbow.  The Doc said to just leave it, and that "everybody" has little pieces of shrapnel like that.

I dislocated my knee skateboarding. Shit was bent sideways. I tore my ACL, PCL and meniscus. :sad: I still miss skateboarding though.

Reminds me of a guy I worked with named Phil. He worked primarily as what we called a rocker. I'd cut marble steps with a bridge saw and then guys like him would take a chisel along the edge and knock out the face to give it a more natural look. Phil didn't like to grind his chisel. I guess one day he was doing his thing and a piece flew off and shot straight up in to his belly. Did a lot of damage to his organs. They removed part of his intestines and stuff and ended up staying in the hospital for quite some time. He had a surgical wound on his stomach at least 10" long and it was all thin and gross.

I got bursitis last year along with a frozen shoulder and rotator cuff tear.  My shoulder is completely messed up now. Besides that I haven't really hurt myself lately.

I don't think I'm following you. Are you saying your son or someone had bursitis and now he dislocates his shoulder when he takes off his sweatshirt. I can imagine that would put a lot of stress on a hurt shoulder.

i broke my wrist long boarding drunk one time, scorpioned super bad, temple was ripped open, top of shoulder ripped open, and my opposite wrist was jacked for about 6 months, i learned to be more ambidextrous though.


rule of thumb if you have a wound, without careful over sight you will bump it into everything. thats why i would never get a piercing.
