Steam can cook you a lot easier though as it is basically a gas which can get through flesh and bone a lot easier than a liquid could, ESPECIALLY if the steam is at a pressure. How long would he have to be exposed for? If it is instantaneous it might be possible without serious harm but if it is for more than 2-3 seconds he will go blind and will suffer extreme permanent damage.

The steam would be worse because it is moving at speed. Even instantaneous (>1s) would be bad.

When a fluid is moving it has a higher rate of heat transfer. It is called convection. Where as conduction would be sticking your finger on a hot metal pan. Convection is way more efficient than conduction. That is why turning the fan on in an oven is called convection. So, hot oil is moving slower than steam. The steam would probably be worse. :sadyes:

Oil doesn't even get close to water in heat capacity. Water can hold more than twice the amount of heat per volume.

You're such an impressionable young kid, Xplicit RelapzZ. Sometimes death is permanent, and bassfreak is still stuck in the denial phase. In a few years he'll move on through anger, bargaining, and depression, and then he'll finally reach the acceptance phase (maybe). Don't let his limited ability to cope with grief and loss hold back your own psychological development.
