White fuzz on stool

For sometimes now I have noticed if I don't poop for a while and finally do the poop will have a fuzzy white stuff on the outside of the poop.  It looks just like cotton.  Anyone know what this is or have experience?

I have hemorrhoids and i'm thinking the white fuzz is actually mucous.  It looks like fucking cotton though not mucous:grrr:  It looks just like myc.  Myc or cotton.

Lord moldy bum, do you eat protein powder, or have hepatitis? Does this "white fuzz" smell really bad? Use Google. It could save your ass. Maybe literally.

Edit: also a doctor consult may be wise. Prepare a stool sample. (Make a fake chocolate one and eat it in front of him/her after offering it then pulling it away really quickly. Then provide the real one with a big chocolate toothed smile.)

Hepatitis?!?  Shit I HOPE NOT!  Now you're scaring me!  Why would hepatitis cause this?  My poop is normal colored it just has this white fuzz on the outside of it.

Absent from any other symptoms, this sounds like an absorption issue.  It may be as simple as a dietary problem, lactose intolerance, or it may be a problem with the way you're producing digestive enzymes, which could indicate any number of things.  A doctor will give you a blood requisition and a urinalysis to check on those enzymes and determine if anything serious is going on.

^ Yes. We should treat this like all the mushroom ID threads. We need pics for an identification, OP. And you might want to get a better look at the stuff too. Poke it with a stick or something.


But more seriously, do what Ped said. There's lots of stuff that could be going on, and you should get checked out by a doctor. Hepatitis was mentioned because liver damage is one of the things that was listed as a possible cause for your fuzzy poop, but there's LOTS of other stuff that could be going on, so don't go crazy.

It's probably mucous. I get it sometimes too. It's usually on the end of the stool. Feces is mostly mucous anyway. Your large intestine secretes mucous to bind the waste product into a solid mass. It's probably nothing to worry about unless you start seeing large quantities and/or not feeling well.

Could be numerous causes.

Excess fat in diet.
Liver disease (lack of bile)
Gallstone (includes dark urine)
Abuse of anti diarrhea drugs

White stool isn't normal and isn't a good sign. I'd highly recommended you visit your GP.
