Pardon my french, but what the fuck?

Does anyone else notice how Negros this time of year are celebrating their little Kwanzaa? I just feel that it cheapens this time of the year. Christians are worshipping the birth of their savior 2000+ years ago, Jews are celebrating whatever Channukah is, and negros are celebrating some holiday invented by a berkely professor 20 years ago. Get your own fucking time of the year, tyrell.

So what black people celebrate Kwanza anyway? Black athiests? Is this some kind of traditional African holiday amogst some Africans somewhere?

I've never even heard of Kwanzaa.  All the black people I know just have Christmas.

It's a holiday that they brought from the old country, it's been celebrated for years!

By "old country" I mean Berkely, california, and "for years", I mean about 20 of them. *rolls eyes* If your culture doesn't HAVE culture, invent some!

How ironic that you should choose this day, when Christians celebrate the birth of a man (who if he did exist) preached about tolerance and love for your fellow man. I don't know man. I agree that kwanzaa is pretty dumb, but no dumber than christmas with all the crass commercialization and the "birth of Jesus" lies and crap. myself, I celebrate the winter solstice because it has REAL significance. no need to invent anything - it marks the shortest day of the year and the rebirth of the Sun.

Christmas, the time of year that the birth of a poor Savior is born. Celebrated by killing a tree and spending lots of money. I'd say that out of all of the holidays that I've seen travelling the world, Christmas in America is the most commercialized ever.
