Just wondering whats a good price is for a half decent digital thermometer/hygrometer. Also wondering what u guys/gals out there use digital or the old fashion kind and whats the name brand and how well does it works for U. I found this one for 39.95 its new but there small blemish on 1 to 3 of the corners. Is this a ok deal?

if you set up your terrarium properly,by that i mean a Poor Mans Pod or similar, you'll soon realise that you never needed a hygrometer.
an acurate temp gauge is much more usefull especially one that records the highs and lows over a 24hour period.i'm sure that anyone with a few grows under their belts would agree.

I'm no pro, but I can usually tell humidity by looking. Maybe not exact but close enough. I only have one of those hi/lo thermometers and I'm happy with it. Its indoor outdoor so I have a sensor in the terrarium and I can tell the temperature of the room too!!

most of the digital hygrometers my hippie friend has used in the past have all gone bad,  due to moisture build up inside of them.

I agree with hanky. I NEVER even use mine any more.

I would say get something growing, and only if you need to diagnose a problem, look to a hygrometer.

WalMart has a combo Thermometer/ Hygrometer for about $3.50 that may require calibration but will give you a good idea of where your setup is at should you need to troubleshoot.

Save your money on high-dollar gadgets, and spend it on essentials.

if you do use a digital hygrometer, remove it from your terrarium once every few weeks and sit it in a warm dry place...above the fridge or water heater, this will dry it out and prolong it's life.

My digital hygrometer only went up to 80%. Then it broke. I went to petco and got a hygrometer for reptile tanks for $10. Works great. though It needs calibration for sure.
