sounds to be alright...but are you sure you cant change a setting on it to make it read in percent?

Yeah, I think some of them top out. I use a dial.

Some digital hygrometers stop their read at around 70% and then just display "wet". That is why I prefer analog just as this one: http://www.reptiledirect.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=91

I just bought a hygro/thermometer from a hydroponics store for $20. It's fully digital, has RH reading from 20% to 100%, and has accuracy +/-3. Along with that it takes readings in different places than it's at. If you would like to know the place I bought it PM me
