Tinder sucks

Some of my friends are always on their smartphones, and aparently use this tinder thing.
It's a dating app, you just pick people based on their looks, and if they have picked you as well you can chat with them.

So I downloaded a virtual android machine to try this out :laugh:
But it fucking sucks.
First of all, choosing people on their looks alone is weird, and I feel bad sometimes for girls I don't chose.
Secondly, I get a shitload of matches, but as soon as I start talking to these women they all block me or something.
What the hell?

So, Tinder. It's good for a laugh, but if you want to meet nice people for dating purposes, you're better off just talking to random people in the street.

4/10, would not download again.

You have to realise that chicks get sooooooo much more matches than guys. Most of these guys start to swarm them with the same old bullshit every single time...

Recently downloaded after me and my ex broke up, and I've had about 7 matches in a few days, (you wouldn't believe how many swipes I did though... kind of sad I'm not an unattractive guy but the girls get so much more attention).

Talked to a few of em. not bullshit like hey, ur pretty, nice teeth, but actually trying to spark conversation based on the content of their profile/pictures.

Some women are just weird. If I get one date off this thing I will be happy but I've literally swiped over 300 people and got 7 matches that's terrible lol.

I have one friend who never starts the convo with tinder girls. He has found that with girls he starts talking to, the hit ratio is so low, that it is not worth the effort. He now finds that 1 in 20 matches will start talking to him eventually and the hit ratio is then close to 100%.

I just make sure I am witty and say something funny about a photo. I continue to chat with them very briefly but actively. I never talk about work or education. I always make sure she is the last one to say something. Preferably a question. Then I wait a week and send a message saying that I am losing patience with text messages and that I'd like to call her because she seems cute. Works very well.

Apparently it's based on Grindr, but I think that what works well for gay guys ("Oh, there's a guy about 2 blocks from me looking for a blowjob") doesn't really translate well for hetero dating.  I much prefer OkCupid, though for the time being I've had my fill of dating sites.

Dito. Even as a guy I can get one candidate per day and everybody knows an FFM is much easier to organize if the woman does the acquisition. If I were single and looking for someone, I bet I could spend my entire day talking to, meeting and fucking women through tinder. But it's a shallow medium and it talks quite a bit of texting to sort out the good ones. In that sense, OKCupid works a little bit better, depending on the membership density in your area.

Most of the girls on there are just looking to get laid (just as the guys are), but I did meet a really fun and intelligent girl through the app a couple weeks ago. She actually wants to meet at a neutral location which I'm looking forward to instead of just coming over my place. :thumbup:

I've since deleted the app because it truly is just a shallow shit-show but I'm glad I downloaded it and met the people I did through it.
