Having lived and spoken a lot with a fairly high up former member of Scientology... the point of the religion is not so much the xenu shit... it is a technological pyramid scheme in which you can pay or volunteer with the church to gain more levels and more access to higher technologies. They specialize in techniques to facilitate past life remembrances, along with devices that use vibrational resonances in the body to remove disease/parasites... among a lot of other things we didn't ever get to - but yeah. It's about the technology not the beliefs.



As far as LDS... I grew up in a very high morman populated area (there are streets, named after the family living on it, with 6 houses in a row.. Grandparents, Parents, Parents, Kids, Kids, Kids... ) anyway.. Their religion is crazy in its own way obviously - but I have always found them to be very respectful - Never once have I heard a morman talk poorly or condescendingly of anothers religion or beliefs. They also work very hard, are kind, and focused. While not a lot of them were close friends, because of mutual differences.. They were awesome to have around for the most part and very reliable.
