yes manure may help out or straw/grass clippings or whatever unless the piggybacking mold is already germinated, a pasturized sub can fend off mold spores but mycleium will just eat through it

I feel like I got rid of my piggybacker.

Although, my second flush has mold now.  The trays are about 1 month from spawn

I could go crazy... and no one would notice :seeya:

and I'm not 100% convinced it IS my spawn.

Watch how your spawn recovers both when shaking and after spawning. Bacteria contaminated spawn can lead to early mold contamination simply by slowing, not even preventing, the recovery of the mushroom mycelium.

Are you using unicorn bags by any chance?  I ended up getting a 50% fail rate with them before I switched over to mycelia bags.

well that might have been the issue with the Oyster bag

I thought that unicorn .5 microns were superior to mycelia bags...?

As a second thought to colonized pollen particles, is that it still takes 2 spores to mate to form a true ravishing mold colony. Maybe there us enough space, but I doubt it...
You figure pollen from a lot of plants from the graph I just looked at gave a range of 1-100 microns, and mold spores range from 3-40 microns, I doubt it. I can see mold spores germinating together themselves in the air and landing in your sub before colonizing pollen.
Go to a university county extension office, or a university and see if they do air samples for biological activity. That will tell you how the air is.
