You people have been fooled once again by zappa's blabber.

zap
>The man is an asshole and a selfish idiot stealing water from downstream people.

He is not blocking any streams and you have presented no evidence to the contrary.

Your quote does not contradict that though you did snow a few readers.

"Riparian right, in property law, doctrine pertaining to properties adjacent to a waterway that (a) governs the use of surface water and (b) gives all owners of land contiguous to streams, lakes, and ponds equal rights to the water, whether the right is exercised or not. The riparian right is usufructuary, meaning that the landowner does not own the water itself but instead enjoys a right to use the water"

There was no stream or river running through his property that he dammed. Show evidence that he did or stfu!

Harrington admitted it

Quote:
Harrington, however, argued in court that that he is not diverting water from Big Butte Creek, but the dams capturing the rainwater and snow runoff – or “diffused water” – are on his own property and that therefore the runoff does not fall under the jurisdiction of the state water managers, nor does it not violate the 1925 act.

Are you retarded?

Its says nothing about blocking any river or stream, as you alleged. It figures you would be in favor of big govt telling us we can't water plants with rain that falls on our own property. Is there any big govt regulation you are not in favor of?

its possible harrington mispoke and accidently called them a dam, if you take that one word out, it looks like he's trying to explain he's only collecting rainwater, and trying to say he wasn't diverting water from the creek.  i dunno do we know where this dude lives? google earth has old photo's i bet we could see his actual dam's and settle this shit with our own eyes not misleading interviews and subjective quotes

Good point, maka. You can build all the dams you wish as long as you don't block or divert a river from its natural flow downstream. I'm glad a few people see through zappa's smoke screen.

I ask again.  Are you dyslexic?  I have twice quoted the passage from the article I found that you refused to link for your copy paste wherein he admits to damming a stream on his property.  I didn't allege anything.  Harrington admitted it in court.

Court testimony is court testimony.  It was what his lawyers argued in court.  He wasn't standing there like a deer in the headlights facing a news crew.  It was court testimony, well deliberated long before unveiling.

you're so liberal zappa.

I checked more news stories, he was damning up tributaries.  Also his ponds had 13 million gallons of water, and 1 20ft high damn.  And that was after going to court 11 years ago  and was told to knock it off.

He admitted building a dam, not blocking any river.

That could be but I would want more than some journalists scribblings.

If he can have a pond with 13,000 gallons why not 13 mill? The laws are stupid and oppressive, some people want govt to be their nanny and tell them what to do 24/7, like zappa does.

If it turns out he was blocking rivers then he was wrong. As it stands now you have no right to the rain that falls on you, and that is a bad law.

actually in oregon you do have a right to rainwater...

You just can't fill up ponds of the shit.  which kind of makes sense because there would be like, ecological consequences if everyone went around storing up millions of gallons of water.  Mainly they wouldn't be able to put chemicals into the water to make everyone gay like the earthquake HAARP is aiming at san fransisco.

Do you know what the word "tributary" means?

You copy pasted those same journalistic scribllings without attribution.  You didn't write what you posted.  You are a plagiarist as well.  Yet another level of lie.

I ask again.  If you have a creek running through your property and I dam it on my property which is upstream will you not cry like a little girl?

There is nothing in this case that says he has no right to the rain that falls on his property.  He has no right to the rain that falls on other people's property and passes through his.  See my link to riparian rights which is a well established legal doctrine.  Colorado cannot choke off Arizona.

It wasn't water that fell on his property.  It was a creek that passed through his property and carried water that had fallen on other people's property.

Some of you guys are hilarious.  People like this crack me up.  They believe any fucking piece of bullshit they read and then call everyone else sheep or talk shit for believing what they hear. Hahahaha.

Do your own research.  The dude had 13 million gallons of water.  This isn't about collecting rain water.  That's legal.  This is about him damming up tributaries to a local river.  13 million gallons.  We aren't talkiny about collecting rainwater.  For fucks sake man, some of yall believe any fucking stupid wording the media throws your way.

There are more people imprisoned for the commission of drug offenses in the United States - close to 500,000 - than are incarcerated in England, France, Germany, and Japan for all crimes combined.  Examined in another way, the United States has 100,000 more people incarcerated for nonviolent drug offenses than all the countries of the European Union combined, despite the fact that the European Union has 100 million more citizens. :crankey:

Actually the article had the facts.  Stonehenge is the obfuscator here since he
1.  Didn't post a link and
2.  Cut off his plagiarized piece before the pertinent information was provided, i.e. that the asshole was damming the creek.
