Generally I think its a waste to watch telly while tripping, but other day I watched 'Pi' with some mates. We ended up talking about it for hours.

Was wondering if there are any other mind twister films out there people would recommend?

Sure, while "Natural Born Killers" may be a visual romp through psychedelic murder, it's not the thinker that 'Pi' is...and I woulnd't recommend that one on shrooms, even though the first time I saw it, I was on acid.

I would recommend 'Altered States'...and, if you can get it, watch "The Elegant Universe" on NOVA.  They have it available on their website.  It attempts to explain 'String Theory', which is a theory that everything is made up of energy vibrating at various frequencies  (a'la bill hicks mushroom revelations) -- very interesting.

Another EXCELLENT film is "True Stories" with David Byrne.  It's more of a comedy, but there's an undertone of absolute bald-faced truth...if that makes sense   Some of the one-liners in there are worth a few hours of discussion on their own...

"Computers are as much a form of personal expression as music."

"Sometimes I like to forget things.  Only by forgetting can we see something as it really is."

'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' is an excellent movie, in my opinion..  Always good for uncontrollable giggling, if that's what you're into

I'm sure a hundred people will be posting shortly with their own idea of great movies...so Enjoy!

I had a great night getting stoned and watching the first three animatrix, and then the south park movie. Both provide food for thought.

Waking Life is a great movie, it will really "twist" your mind;)

Waking Life is excellent visually, but I can't imagine having the patience to concentrate on the plot for too long. It would be fun to try though.

If you liked Pi get the director's other film, Requiem for a Dream.

Be careful. I still can't listen to the soundtrack. It gives me that trip-anxiety feeling in the middle of my chest right below my lungs and I feel like I'm about to die. I freaked out really bad. Can't watch it, can't think about it, can't hear the music.. anything. It got me good.

maybe its cause i'm not much of a TV fan, but I cannot watch TV or films tripping.  My attention span lasts all of 10 seconds, and then I start looking out the window, then before I know it I'm up and headed to the cool stuff outside. :tongue2:

Seen 'Requiem for a Dream', good film, just not what you would call a feel good movie, but then I think you could guess that from the title

All three Matrixes are awesome to watch when tripping, if you're a fan of the trilogy that is :P

I found Matrix 3 to be not as bad a crushing disappointment as
Matrix 2, in fact U quite liked it.I think because my expectations of matrix 3 were lowered by 2. The first was genius though.

Another film came to my mind, it's called "Equilibrium". In that movie, the society takes some kind of drug that nullifies all emotions. Might be weird as fuck to watch that trippin. There's also some AWESOME gun fights, strongly reminding The Matrix. Hell, they even wrote "Forget the Matrix!" on the box
