The fact that they encounter dangerous criminals on a daily basis just might have something to do with that statistic.

You are right about that but they do have the right to protect themselves and the community they live in. That being said the shooting of the guy in NC  did not appear justified and this case doesnt seem justifiable either.

While Im ok with the cops hitting someone to subdue them Im not ok with them doing something like this. I could deal with a kick or punch or two to deal with a suspect who runs, it is a better option then shooting them but then you do run the risk of the suspect getting the police officers firearm.

  Lets face it pris is right some of you will just automatically assume the cops are always wrong . That is asinine as hell.  The issue of when and how much force can or should be used to apprehend someone is a tough one. Though running from the cops does seem like a hell of a lot more force is used then. If you  run or assault the police it usually wont end well for the person running. Rarely does the suspect get away and you just add more charges.

looks like you frequently jump to conclusions because in my previous police
posts I wasnt defending the cops, just pointing out the stupidity of the
fuckwit they killed or beat, it's a huge difference but you guys dont seem to
get it

he stole a horse after a car chase with police in which he put people's lives
in danger, should I call him an upstanding citizen? since we know nothing for

a few years ago a chick was tasered, fell and hit her head putting her in a
vegetative state, everyone was up in arms about it, the cries were for the
cops to chase her on foot, when a cop shoots someone the cries are "why didnt
they use a taser, they could have just beat him into submission"


so no, in reality, it doesnt makea fucking difference, you'll always see the
cops as being in the wrong no matter what actions they take because when it's a
non violent, friendly encounter, the cops are condemned for stopping the guy

No there are fairly accurate numbers based on crowd sourced news reporting of incidents. There is probably some undercounting still because the media probably doesn't report on every incident.

I'm really having a hard time saying this.
But damn, that's a pretty solid argument.
I'm starting to see how both sides are circumstantial, and it's not always evil cops doing evil things.

But your tendencies to argue the side of the police still make me sick. :smile:

Although the word of the police saying "he stole a horse putting people's lives in danger", doesn't hold much water.
They make wild claims like "i feared for my life" all the time..

I point out the obvious

cops are no different than you or me, when you're in a high stress situation
you'll do things you wouldnt normally do, when your adrenalin is high you're
more likely to start pounding on someone that is in a submissive position. it
doesnt make what they did right but it's an explanation for why it was done
