Again, who cares? What argument are you trying to make here? There is corruption everywhere.
But we are talking about the rampant killings of US citizens by out of control police.
Again, compared US police killings to ANY other first world country, it doesn't matter which. Quit fixating on the UK.

If you read how those police died, a lot are accidents/health related.


Still seeing a lot of shot/stabbed to death in there. I counted at least 70 were shot to death.

Actually we were talking about the North Charleston, South Carolina shooting, but the topic was changed to talk about UK police. So I countered the weak argument pointing out the discrepancy in police killed vs civilians killed in the UK.

So when someone goes on a shooting rampage the police should just wait and let him kill everyone around first? Why even have police if they aren't going to protect the community?

Canada -  The total number of citizens killed by law enforcement officers in the year 2014, was 14; that is 78 times less people than the US
UK - 1 person was killed by police in 2014 and 0 in 2013. English police reportedly fired guns a total of three times in all of 2013, with zero reported fatalities.
From 2010 through 2014, there were four fatal police shootings in England, which has a population of about 52 million. By contrast, Albuquerque, N.M., with a population 1 percent the size of England’s, had 26 fatal police shootings in that same time period.
China, whose population is 4 and 1/2 times the size of the United States, recorded 12 killings by law enforcement officers in 2014.
Germany - From 2013-2014, police killed absolutely no one
Iceland - In the entire history of Iceland police, they have only killed 1 person ever

Total number of US troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan COMBINED in WAR in 2014 was 58

Number of US citizens killed by police in 2014? 1,100+
Looks like they are trying to beat that record for 2015.

You know something all those places share in common? They have much lower crime rates than the US. You're talking about places that get less than 2 murders per 100,000 people annually. Can you think of any US cities with a population of 100,000+ with a crime rate that low?

(There are none. Plano, Texas is the lowest crime city in the US for it's size and surpasses 2 per 100,000 routinely)

Why is it that cops resort to their guns so quickly.


One night a few years ago I was riding my bike home late at night. The same route I always take but there was some head of state staying in a house and they had put up barricades that I didn't notice and I flew through them. All of a sudden the secret service jumped out and yelled "stop or we'll shoot" pointing their guns at me. I had gone 95% through the secure area. They made me walk back the way I came in. Stupid fucks on a power trip.

The conversation originally was about a shooting by a police officer on a most likely unarmed man in North Charleston, South Carolina. Then there were some unrelated tangents. The point you poked in had nothing to do with either of those things. You poked in when the UK, a country with a crime rate much lower than the US, was being mentioned as if it were relevant. (It isn't.)

You want to pull that card? You think the small discrepancy in crime justifies the massive police killings of unarmed people?

Honduras, the murder capitol of the world, with 90.4 murders per 100,00 reported 149 citizens killed by police from January 2011 to November 2012

Venezuela, in second place with an average of 53.7 murders per 100,000, killed 268 people in 2014, or about one per day

Jamaica, with 44 murders per 100,000, police killed 100 people in 2014

US has about 4 murders per 100,00, MUCH LESS CRIME than any of these countries... and police killed more than 1,100 people in 2014, more than all these countries COMBINED. We could go further if you like.

China has 4 1/2 times the population of the US, and also has a higher violent crime rate than the US. You didn't mention anything about that.

No. Not the second comparison. But I first compared us against first world countries and DMT said they have nowhere near the crime or murder level we do. That's true, but it's not that big of a gap. UK, China, and Canada all have around 1 murder per 100,00, US has about 4. So lets say.. being very generous, US has about 4x the level of crime per capita as most of our other first world country friends, but we have around 1000x the killings by police as them.
That's not a good enough comparison apparently... so I compared us against 3rd world countries with rampant corruption and crime and get told I'm twisting the facts to fit my narrative. Nothing is good enough I guess.
