That was probably the best article about ISIS that I read. It actually answered a lot of question in my head.

Then again, It all comes back to the same conclusion.

We have to kill ISIS followers for their beliefs because they are different than our own.

What Isis Really Wants is worth a read. Fundamentally different kinds of wack jobs than Alqada with different aims. Very creepy millennialism.

Anyone else find it funny those who backhandedly support Isis are to lazy to read the article.

Just more proof those who join this group are of lower intelligence

What ISIS really wants is to spread enough fear around for the obama administration to get congressional approval for a ground attack in syria to justify the the killing of bashar al-assad resulting in a long awaited regime change. True story.

Obama already has approval . He won't do what needs to be done. He will have only at best train arm and use drones. The training and arming of "moderate rebels " has gone horrible. In fact most of it has ended up in the hands of Islamist and most of the groups we have vetted and trained simply vanished .  At the same time we aren't supporting the Kurdish people who have been our allies for decades now and far better allies then the Saudi government.

What we need to do is go in there and clean up. Total warfare . It wouldn't take long they have no navy no aircraft limited artery and tanks. Just wipe them and there supporters off the face of this earth with extreme prejudice. Then leave. If the Sunnis and Shiites want to kill each other let them . But Isis is a threat to anyone in the civilised world.

If we don't do this now in a few years we will have to and it will be far worse.  We should have just let Assad kill his own then we would only have 30-40k dead versus the over 100k at least we have now. If we waiver in our resolve then the dead will be in the millions. And not just Muslims

Threat of American ISIS Fighters 'Not Even Close to Being Under Control,' Top FBI Official Says
The head of the FBI’s counterterrorism division was blunt about the threat here at home from Americans who’ve trained with terrorist groups like ISIS overseas: “We don’t have it under control.”
t’s not even close to being under control,” FBI Deputy Assistant Director Michael Steinbach told House members today.

Over nearly three hours of testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee, Steinbach laid out the evolving threats facing the U.S. homeland and the efforts underway to stop them. He was joined by the director of the National Counterterrorism Center and the Department of Homeland Security’s top intelligence official.

All three agreed that because of few intelligence assets on the ground in the region, particularly in Syria, the U.S. government has little insight into who’s joining terrorist groups there, and who’s then leaving with what NCTC director Nicholas Rasmussen described as “training in weapons and explosives” and “access to terror networks that may be ultimately planning attacks” against the West.
“In many cases the information we have on foreign fighters traveling to the conflict zone stops when they get there,” Rasmussen warned.

Within its ranks, ISIS is estimated to have 50,000 “barbarians,” as the committee’s chairman, Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, put it. In Syria and Iraq, fighting with ISIS and other groups, there are more than 20,000 foreign fighters, including at least 3,400 recruited from Western countries, the U.S. officials said today.

“It exceeds the rate of travelers who went to Afghanistan and Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, or Somalia or other prominent conflict zones ... at any point in the last 20 years," Rasmussen said.

Of the dozens of Americans who have gone to Syria or Iraq and trained with terrorists there, “a small group” of them have returned to the United States and are now being tracked by the FBI, sources previously told ABC News.

But today, Steinbach told lawmakers: "It would not be true if I told you that we knew about all of the returnees. … We know what we know.”........

FBI warns military of ISIS threat
The FBI issued a warning Sunday to members of the U.S. military that ISIS is calling for attacks against them, according to a law enforcement source, saying that "overseas based individuals are looking for like-minded individuals in the U.S. to carry out these attacks."We also request members of the military review their online social media presence for any information that might attract the attention of violent extremists," the bulletin said, advising that members of the military "use caution and practice operational security when posting."

The new FBI bulletin includes a concern that ISIS members are "spotting and assessing" individuals in the U.S. who they believe may be interested in carrying out attacks on U.S. soil against members of the U.S. military, a U.S. counter-terror official tells CNN.

Even though fighting between Ukraine and Russian-backed rebels has strained relations between Moscow and Washington, most Americans place the conflict low on the nation’s list of threats. According to a Gallup poll, about 44 percent of Americans consider the situation in Eastern Ukraine (and the possible return of a Cold War) a critical threat. By contrast, the Islamic State and international terrorism in general are perceived as much greater risks to national security.

The Islamic State has just released its latest horror video, showing the mass beheading of 21 Egyptian Copts in Libya. The gruesome film has also illustrated that Isis is extending its reach into North Africa, far from current battlegrounds in Syria and Iraq. In response to the beheadings, Egypt bombed Islamic State targets in Libya.

84 percent of Americans consider the Islamic State and international terrorism the most critical threats to American security. Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons is considered a critical threat by 77 percent of people in the United States while 64 percent also view North Korea’s military strength as a major threat.

Burring you head in sand and sarcastic comments wont change anything.  If you dont believe they are a threat you need to pay more attention to the news. Hell what just happened today.

"looking for like-minded individuals in the US to carry out attacks"

So that would be a domestic and not a foreign issue. Since we have an open border policy, wouldn't the greatest threat be just having a few of them cross the border and enter the US illegally?

How is fighting overseas going to fix that problem?  It isn't.

How do you even root them out?  They take off their uniforms and blend into a city or town, then what?

If you want to see what IS wants and how they plan on achieving it I suggest reading this

https://azelin.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/abu-bakr-naji-the-management-of-savagery-the-most-critical-stage-through-which-the-umma-will-pass.pdf

Its long, but it lays out the foundation of how they want to achieve their goals.  They aren't really that fringe of an organization in Islam.  Its just a fucked up religion all together.  Its what happen when you call an illiterate pedophilic warlord your prophet.  Jesus might have been full of shit but at least he wasn't an asshole.

i love how it was all written just out in the open; making their religion look as officially dumb ass possible. "if the world modernizes, and people grow more brains, then you can kill them to save the word of God!"

might as well just have said that.

The reality is that this is the biggest threat the world faces and if we don't do something now the butcher bill will be even higher with more and more people being killed in the name of Islam.  How long before we see an attack here in America like they saw today in Tunis at a museum full of tourists?  We have to root these people out and kill them without mercy.  They will have no alternative.  They are strictly looking at it as them or us.  I say them should get the beat down.
