Yeah, but the frontman of ISIS (I forget his name) mentions Neurosis as one of their biggest influences, so I always like to compare.

I only actually have Panopticon by ISIS, but most people say it's their best.

Their earlier shit is heavier but I thinks its all solid.

for the people that can't stand the rough vocals, you might wanna start with the In the Fishtank album which is a collaboration between Isis and post-rock group Aereogramme. pretty sublime stuff, and one of those rarer cases where the mesh of styles makes for a pretty bitchin' hybrid.

even so, blowing off Panopticon because of that is just... eh. That one's required listening for this kind of muzak.

Ghost Key is probably my second-favorite album by these guys.

Whoops, guess I forgot the album was called Wavering Radiant. needless to say it now but I'm far from an enthusiast, haha. but yeah, ghost key was obviously one of the standout tracks for me on that album. Good stuff~ :thumbup:

I wish they would both stop having vocals altogether. This music is so much more powerful by itself. Which is why I like Pelican much more than both of them :wink:
